FastATA 4000 versus Buddah IDE

I am debating between Elbox FastATA 4000 and IComp Buddha IDE for use on a 3000/4000 system and wondered if anyone has owned both and can provide recommendations for which is the better product under AOS 314/32?
I am leaning towards the FastATA but the lower price of the Buddha is tempting.

I had a Buddha in my A4000 running OS3.2.1 and it worked fine with my CF and SSD drives but only issue was that speed wise it was basically the same as the oboard IDE so I sold it and bought a FastaATA MK-VII but unfortunately I could'nt get the card to be seen at all and this is after trying every single Zorro slot and even with it being the only card on my Zorro board...Elbox even sent me another one to try after a very looooong time waiting for it to get to me (Covid delays etc.) but no luck at all sadly. Hopefully you have better luck in your system.

Still I'd recommend the FastaATA over the Buddha if you're looking for quicker transfer speed otherwsiw the Buddha worked great for me.

FastATA MKIV will be much faster. Arguably Buddah IDE is cheaper, has better customer support and higher availability.

But if you intend to upgrade CPU any time soon, wait for TF4060 which is an 060 accelerator with integrated IDE.

My A4000 uses a FastATA. In my expect tricky edge cases until you get something that really works for you. I wouldn't expect much by way of support either. Once you have it up and running it's much faster than the on-board IDE. I would not use one with an A3660 and a ZZ9000. There's something about that trinity (possibly contention or timings) that caused me no end of problems for a long time. Fewer problems at lower resolutions, and )most of) the problems disappeared when I put a CSMk2 in. I'll see how things go once I've installed a BFG9060 as that might come with it's own timing issues.

I've heard some people have had issues with OS 3.2 and the FastATA but I seem to be ok on 3.2.1.

TF4060 will be fantastic when it becomes publicly available. I haven't seen anything suggesting it'll happen soon and I've been waiting since 2020 I think. Have you seen any movement on this alexh?

@ stevelord

I thought it was my VA2000 at first but in the end 2 brand new FastaATA 4000 boards would just not be seen in my A4000 at all...& yes all caps replaced, PSU voltages fine and more importantly all my other Zorro cards including my old Buddha card worked great in it so
Anyhow I've got it in a box since I paid $50 to get it back to Elbox and don't want to lose money selling it now...figure I'll keep it and try it again when OS3.3 comes out

Rev2 prototype was finished in September. Not fully debugged. No price or availability yet.

I think they want to get TF360 (CD32) out the door first. That is now complete and you can buy though the normal TF channels.

Thanks for the feedback. I have ZZ9000's on order and will probably get the FastATA which is avaliable now and I have learned waiting can cause you to miss out. If/when the TF4060 or Vampire becomes avaliable I can always upgrade. Who knows when they will be out. Hese is building me an AA3000+ & 4000TX motherboard(s).

My 1st big box Amiga experience!

Boy this gets expensive but is fun and I have learned patience is required for this hobby.

The 3000 will go in a Checkmate black case with Simons fitting kit I received a few weeks ago.
The 4000 will go in a Fractal Define XL case w/optical drive bays.

Debating installing Zip/Jaz/Rev/LS120 drives in the 2nd optical drive bay.
