A1000 with PiStorm is a thing apparently
Saw this video of a dude cramming a PiStorm into his A1000.
[ Show youtube player ] Seems to work.. It sure looks like one of the cheapest and non destructive mods you can do to revitalize the A1000. Anyone here tried it? Also, as of 2021, what is the best source for (real) chip-RAM upgrades for the A1000? |

Chipram upgrade module is available at Amiga Unicorn.eu
Jens says he has one in the works but like the A1200 rebooted probably take eons. I have a 1000 and will probably try a Pistorm in it. Thirty some years later and Iam right back where I started, moving on from her to other Amigas because of the chipram issue. Weird huh? |

Do you have an URL? Amigastore.eu btw has the Classic 520 tagged as "incoming" (its been out of stock for a while. Its IMO one of the better A1000 upgrades out there..) But cant find any A1000 chip ram stuff there. |

![]() I looked long and hard at the Classic 520 which is very good for the 1000. Over $200 U.S. I believe but then again I went and bought the Amiga Paceiro for David Dunkle in Colorado.$200, no accelerator, uses a combo kick/work bench disk then you can use sd card for storage on board. Also real time clock if anyone cares. Nice small profile though. |

The PiStorm though..while based around emulation.. its tempting.. cheaper yes, but most importantly, can be installed inside, out of sight. :-) |

As far as I know chipram has to be done with agnus and on the 1000 the solution is a Rejuvenator board.
