okies. do you want it standard or recorded? i'll put it in antistatic bag inside a jiffy bag, so will be a little extra due to size of package. i'm not fussed about when i get the postage back, you can send it to me via paypal when you recieve it and see the postage stamp for proof of cost
lemmie know and pm me your address and i'll get it sorted |

The package arrived on Thursday 5th Jan. I opened it when I got home and after a quick brew got stuck in.
I carefully opened up the A600 and replaced the old KS ROM. Then I attached a 64Mb CFC<=CF2IDE adapator=>IDE cable. I covered the hole in the HD cradle using masking tape and secured the CF2IDE adaptor to it. Finally, I opened the trapdoor and slotted in the ram expansion. I powered up and saw the familiar Amiga purple "insert disk screen". My A600 came with a complete set of WB2.1 disks. I booted the Install disk and prepped my CFC. It was recognised immediately (60MB free). I partitioned the drive:- WB:10MB, Work:50MB. After a a soft reset, I formatted both partitions using quick format and omitted the trashcan. Then I proceeded to install WB2.1. After a quick reset the Amiga WB loaded within 10 secs and it shows over 1.8MB chip ram free! More than enough to play many classic A500 games directly from HD using the excellent Whdload. I then installed DOpus 4.12, fat95 and cfd to access the pcmcia slot. I popped the CFC into a CFC-USB adaptor and copied over my favourite Amiga game, Turrican (Whdload version) from my netbook. I then put the CFC into a CF-pcmcia adaptor and inserted it into the A600 (power off). I powered up the A600 and the CFC in the pcmcia slot showed up! Being used to using a stock A1200HD, I noticed the drop in operating speed. This is OK. What is important is that the A600 is portable and can go anywhere. Amiga heaven! I realise that I can upgrade to WB3.1, but this will have to wait. (the KS3.1 rom is out of stock @ AmigaKit ;-) ) Now I have to source and install all necessary apps, tools and libs for the 68000 cpu. Viva Aminet. The Amiga 600 lives again with the help of a generous EAB member. Thanks "diablothe2nd" |

BRILLIANT!
I was worried that the pins on the ROM would get bent in transit. i tried my best at packing it with what i had. Though it looks like all was fine I'm very glad what remains of my dead 600 has found a good home. It's worth more than the mere £2 in postage it cost to know it's being used and loved |
