Nothing broken so far in-game... except when I quit the game using the Escape-key it freezes..
Tested and reproduced on WinUAE 4 and FS-UAE 3 using a stock A1200
tried with both with kickstarts 40068 and 39106..
tried both from Workbench 3.0 or boot direct from floppy..

not a big deal... as it is nothing the three finger salute cant fix.

Tiny Bobble RC2 Released

Download link
http://www.abyss-online.de/eab/TinyBobble_Beta_RC2.adf

Fixes
  • Big cakes did not appear(!)
  • Player kept lightning bubbles in level 100
  • Players could be hit when getting launched in level 100

The broken 'big cakes' logic was a rather 'big' feature not working Thanks to Zarnal for pointing on it.
The big cakes scores are not identical to the arcade because i ran out of chipmem. So score 10000 becomes 16000 and 20000 becomes 32000. I hope no one is too disappointed

Let's finish it this weekend. Happy testing!

Excellent, I was just about to ask if anybody encountered any big cakes at all.

2 minor things I noticed with RC2:

- After quitting, the keyboard stops working (mouse still moves, so it's not a crash). This is new since RC1, it was fine with 0.993.

- And another even smaller thing (which I think as been mentioned before): The game over music misses the final low note, like in (ok, let's try this):
Pling-a-ling-a-ling-a-ling-a-ling-a-ling - pause - dum!
(but maybe it's just me that liked that 'dum' quite a bit ).

Excellent work pink^abyss!!!!!

it seems you have covered all the important issues!
Last bug in my opinion to correct is the "Player 2" not dying by the level 100 boss or projectiles when taking cover behind "Player 1"... but even if its not fixed, this can also be used as a strategy to assist a weaker player ;-)

The escape time starts at 30 second for level 1 and goes linearly down to a minimum of 6 seconds in the last level. This is not(!) like in the arcade. The game is overally easier then the arcade, and that's intended. It's of course all subjective
Hallo pink^: Thanks again for fantastic game. No, it is not about that. If you have a look at level 21. The enemy get stuck in their cell, box and does not come out even after they get angry, music play fast.

I know there are not many users testing the 2 player mode..
So I uploaded version RC3 on AmigaLive so anyone can play and test the 2 player mode extensively over the weekend. :-)

The last note of the GAME OVER should be lower.

You can actually free an enemy which is sliding in the water by bubbling them up...
either by shooting a bubble at them or by shoot a bubble at them while both travelling within the water...

Not sure if this is still open for additions, but if there is anything about missing sound,
it would be nice to add a springy sound when hopping on the bubbles like the older Amiga version had.. and a sound when getting Letter bubbles... they both have a satisfactory feeling when being heard...
but I do understand that continuously adding features like this, chances are slim to be seeing the final release this weekend..
maybe include this to features added in post production... like a Special Edition version in the future which will also be more difficult.... ;-)

Bug with RC3:

After getting potion and collection the bonus items in 2-player mode, the position of the calculation is now corrected, but there still was some graphical bug below the green calculation, see screenshot:

After this, the next level came up as expected, but the music didn't go back to the default theme but stayed to be the get-bonus-items-theme.

Bug with RC3:

I finally got a big cake
Unfortunately, it went straight through the bottom of level 26 and couldn't be reached, see screenshot:

Possible Bug with RC3 in level 33:

2nd enemy on the top goes straigt into the wall and is falling through the wall from then on, I added some arrows in the following screenshot to show his path:

It's still possible to plop him, though, standing next to the wall when his falling through...

I add the last detail, i just think we have abused Pink ^ abyss patience, enough:

when you complete EXTEND the sound of adding a life should be the same as when the game starts on the title screen.

stop

Possible bug in RC3 level 77:

Bubbled enemies float straight through the ceiling (please correct me if this is normal for this level), see screenshot:

As far as I'm aware, this is normal behaviour.

They come back up at the bottom afterwards

Possible bugs in RC3 level 95:
  • The bubbles for player 1 go straight up and are not returning his way like they do for player 2. This makes it impossible for pl.1 to make his way up to the upper platform. This is in 2-player-mode, I don't know if this is different in 1-player-mode. If pl. 1 turns around, facing the wall, his bubbles go into the wall, where he cannot follow.
  • some enemy that was bubbled & freed again got stuck in the wall, making it impossible for player 2 to advance upwards. I'll return to my last save state...

@DamienD Do you know how this is in 1-player-mode?

It's like that for Player 1, but it's not impossible to get up to the top and kill the enemies

Here are two different scenarios; I now use the 2nd one as it's safer, the 1st one requires precision timing:

First:

Second:

If those screenshots don't explain it well enough then I guess I can take a video. Let me know.

Thanks, I figured out the first scenario, but it's really hard because you don't emerge at the save spot on the left. The 2nd scenario is actually the one I saw on YouTube with the arcade version. But I can't advance upwards any further than on your screenshot because the bubbles go straight into the wall (too far to the left). It it different for you? Could you add pl. 2 and see if the behaviour is different?
I finished the level with pl. 2, because there the bubble's behaviour matches the arcade version.

But now, I'm totally stuck at level 97. How the hell did you finish that one? From the position I am on the screenshot (blue dragon), I cannot reach the enemy?
