I think I want a PiStorm now but i am not sure where to start is there any guides anyone can recommend on how to get started? i am mostly interested in the software setup especially not wanting to rely on something like coffinos which seems shady

It is very much like installing the os onto any Amiga. I just used some old backups of my 030/060 systems with the pistorm and pistorm 32 lite.
P96 installation is just the same as with any nonsupported RTG card, works fine. There are a few raspberry pi/pistorm specific things to do to your memory card, but especially when running emu68 you don't need to do much more than copy over your kickstart rom and make one additional partition that shows up as a hard disk on the amiga side. I would start by reading the tutorials from the Emu68 repo: https://github.com/michalsc/Emu68/bl...Preparation.md https://github.com/michalsc/Emu68/bl...s/P96_Setup.md If you want to adjust the emulator settings: https://github.com/michalsc/Emu68/bl...ocs/Options.md |

Hello
We can supply a microSD card with the PiStorm software on it. Here is the Pistorm products listed on our AmigaKit store: https://www.amigakit.com/advanced_se...ywords=pistorm We hand assemble each board in-house and can therefore can keep the costs down and pass this on in the retail price. Hope this helps |

I've got a PiStorm32 Lite here (bought from Amigakit) plus a Pi4 2gb starter kit (cables and MicroSD) I'm not too far from you, Sevenoaks. I've never used it so it's all as new, I picked up a TF1260 instead. I was thinking of selling it but I'm not around for a couple of weeks. If you do buy new I recommend Amigakit and for the Pi I always use PiHut.

Is there any difference other than colour between the £67.49 version and the £74.99 ones? I would read the WIKI page you link to on amiga.org but the certificate is expired so flags up a warning |

You just pay extra for the non-standard color. The hardware is open source and always the same, no matter who sells it.

Bought recently PiStorm + Pi3 + preinstalled SD from amigastore.eu
Works out of the box, just plug and play. Boots into normal WB3.2 within seconds, I find no difference to any classic accelerator in appearance. Will be the same from Amigakit. I have not found time to configure RTG yet, though. It is next logical step. |

I bought my PiStorm32 Lite from AmigaKit. Very fast delivery and they are the cheapest anywhere.
HOWEVER I would consider buying a PiStorm32 Lite + CM4 Adapter + Breakout board. This turns a Pistorm32 lite into a non-lite. It is a better overall solution for the A1200 in terms of ports and physical fit. It does double the cost though from about £110 to £220 https://www.retropassion.co.uk/produ...-32gb-sd-card/ |

Another purple (AmigaKit) PiStorm32 Lite user here with a very standard/classic setup (pistorm 32lite branch*), I found the guides on the retro32 website were helpful along with the Pistorm Github Wiki - I guess that means I'm using Musashi emulation on top of Raspberry Pi OS and not raw Emu68(?) - that was really unclear when reading about how to do this.
*https://github.com/captain-amygdala/...pistorm32-lite Just got internet over the Pi4's WiFi working: Pi's wlan is shared to virtual a314 device with AmiTCP/AmiSSL stack. It took a few attempts so reach out if you're interested and get stuck also. |

It is a pistorm32/amiga 1200 specific piece of kit. I recommend getting the model that has the breakout PCB to the rear panel for a neat install.
