Request: Outlands

Not an amazing game but figured it was worth tackling. It's the full-priced version of the game that was later re-released as Heavy Metal Heroes (in budget).

Heavy Metal Heroes does have a WHDLoad slave but Outlands generally appears to be the superior game:

- Outlands has a splash screen, Heavy Metal Heroes does not.
- Outlands has a proper Amiga palette, Heavy Metal Heroes has the original ST palette (this probably could be fixed in the slave for Heavy Metal Heroes)
- Outlands was released on two disk whereas Heavy Metal Heroes was one. I couldn't tell you what they needed the extra disk for.

I did a whdload version and will zone it later today. Haven't quite finished everything yet, but it does work on WinUAE.

Does your version have Dizzy Dice on it as well?

Edit: In the Zone

Have a look in the zone for ext adf & mfm images.
Ext adf does not have Dizzy Dice, I haven't looked at the mfm images though.

I actually wrote the imager and slave back in March of 2013. I just finished support for the other version from Denis. The game is identical, but files on the 2nd half of disk one were at different offsets.

If so, I can't as I didn't dump them, they're part of Yori Yoshizukis UnRenamed Commodore collection I happen to have.

What track(s) are giving you an issue. The data is intact so it would assume it have to be track 0 -3? I will have to wait till tomorrow to redump.

BTW the extended adf has a error on disk 1 track 5. The mfm images are fine.

simple : the disk format as i said earlier is 10x512bytes Atari ST MFM tracks, + 1 longtrack.
The Protection is recognized as the "Infogrames $A144" long track.

Problem : track 1 on disk 2 use or seem to use the same protection, and the analyser has troubles to get it. That's why i need another dump of your second disk

Not really worth a new tread, so I put it here. The only cracked ADF is broken [cr OCL]. All levels can be played, but the ending sequence does not load. Instead it just shows a debugger message.

Guess the same thing happened to the person who produced the screenshots for HOL. Since there are screenshots from all levels but no ending screenshot.

Savestate attached if someone wants to take a look. Just insert disk 1 and press enter.

Well, damn.

I was going to suggest the CAPs version to see the ending, but the game is so obscure that it's neither in their database nor in their wish-list. Same goes for Heavy Metal Heroes.

Edit: Aah.. maybe the MFM images alluded to above could be used to play to the end, and maybe make a 100% crack?

Thanks for the extended ADF's (they seems to work). This game is really long and tough, so don't want to play it all over again just to see if the ending works. So must find a way to skip levels or add unlimited lives. Action Replay?
