Shit Game Time: Bomb Jack II, what happened?

It's Friday!,...and what better way to start the weekend off with a brand new "? Game Time" ?.

This time I'll be playing and Shit-rating "Bomb Jack II" on the ZX Spectrum (basically covers all 8-bit versions), a shadow of the original classic.
This is a paid request by youtuber "Zon Zeeos", I hope you enjoy it.

I'll tell you what: a unhealthy amount of french fries and questionable chicken product. I was so happy for about 15 minutes, but now It's feel like shit game time.

This one will be interesting. I remember rather liking Bombjack II on the C64, but I have no experience with the ZX Spectrum version.

I quite liked Bomb Jack 2 on the Amstrad CPC, definitely not a shit game for me.

Had Bombjack 1 loved it, then bought the compilation of 1 & 2, boy was I gutted with number two.
I tried to like it and play it. Maybe if it were not called Bombjack 2 then it might have been an OK game in its own merit?

Yep that's pretty much what I stated in the video, not a truly shit game but had such a big pair of boots to fill that it was It's own fall, if it was called something else and not marketed as the sequel to bomb jack then it would have been received in a brighter light imo.

Yep, same experience here.

Loved the first one (even on C64, lol), but the second one was so different.
Quite disappointing.

I think it was in development as something else but they changed it to be 'Bomb Jack II' at the last minute. Which explains why its so different from the first one, but not why its so bad. The original is one of my favourite 80s games, this is a bad unoriginal platform beat 'em up.
