Best Amiga Games with NO SHOOTING of ANY KIND?

These will most likely be puzzle or racing games or whatever, but I've found a few games that I've liked that require more use of the little grey cells rather than shooting up everything in sight:

E-Motion
Stunt Car Racer
Scrabble
Super Twintris
Geoff Crammond's Formula One Grand Prix

I also played Damocles a lot, and while your vehicles did have a gun, I don't recall a single time in the game where I needed to use it, so this game is borderline in the subject of this thread.

But what good games can you recommend that don't contain guns of any kind? Might make for a fun list.

Dunno if it's one of the best, but I quite enjoyed Logical.

Robocod (I don't remember any guns), Pacmania, Populous, Vroom, Kid Chaos.

Edit: ah there were cannons in Robocod I think...

Lemmings
Pushover
The Settlers (they use swords but I don't think there were archers)
Sim City/Ant/Life/Earth/City 2000
A-Train
Railroad Tycoon

Would like to mention Deflektor but since the main ray of light is emitted (shot?) am not sure...

And beside that
Rock'n' Roll
Ports of Call
Klondike
Hollywood Poker Pro (all shootings there are beyond the screen if you know what i mean )

I second Lemmings although there are lots of hideous deaths and you can blow them all up!

Other ideas:
Speedball 1/2
Lotus 1/2/3
Monkey Island 1/2 (I think there is no shooting)
Sensible Soccer/World of Soccer
Pinball Dreams/Fantasies etc.
Jimmy Whites's Whirlwind Snooker
Moonstone
Bubble Bobble/Rainbow Islands

And many more...

Snooker & Speedball & Swos & Pinball games actually shoot balls

And Bubble Bobble & Rainbow Islands have weapons too.

I like the question. Very challenging to find games like this.

Tearaway Thomas
Puzznic
IK+
Lotus series

I know the criteria is very broad, but last I heard, pinballs nor footballs ever killed anyone.

I was thinking in terms of weapons.

Hi!

Interesting question and interesting list

I think that you could add:
  • Bubble Bobble
  • Gobliiins
  • Hot Rod
  • Indy Heat
  • Lure of the Temptress
  • Marble Madness
  • Rainbow Island
  • Rod Land
  • Simon the Sorcerer
  • The Great Giana Sisters
  • The Lost Prince

Tower of Babel features a Zapper that can "zap" objects, would that qualify as a "gun"? If not, add it to the list! What about Loom, there are some "fights" with some spells IIRC. What about Pang, in which player fire a kind of harpoon?

Cheers!

OP used one phrasing in title then a slightly differrent in the end of the post.

No shooting of any kind would disqualify a few more.. (Shooting bubbles in Bubble Bobble, rainbows in Rainbow Island, fireball (?) in Giana Sisters.. etc..
Shooting a ball in Sensible Soccer / Kick off.. but if its just about no Guns, then ok :-)

Yes indeed IIRC... While in Rod Land, the player captures monsters with their rods and then "judo" them back and forth on the head... But one of the bonus in Rod Land is a kind of missile...

Yeah, what Rodland does reminds me of Syndrome in The Incredibles tossing Mr. Incredible around with his zero-point energy glove. And you're right about the missile.

This list is going to be more contentious than I thought.

Dinosaur Detective Agency, no shooting even though you do get rid on ennemies all along the way
The only shooting involved is when your avatar takes pictures
No harm done to baddies, at least nothing lethal presumably
As an example, it's a bit like "phasers to stun"

I would vote for Wizzy's Quest and Swibble Dibble.

Then there are the adventure games like Maniac Mansion, ZakMc Kracken.

Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis has a gun scene, but no shooting if i remember right.
Monkey island ? Hmm, does the launching of the main character with a cannon count as a gun-shooting ?

Prince of Persia, I don't consider using a sword as a gun.

Golden Axe I suppose as well.

What about beat 'em ups? No guns in a lot of them, unless you are banning projectiles?
