The New Hotness II - a1200 CDROM+pics

After my Compact Flash modification to my a1200, I thought I'd share my x24 CDrom modification with Abime.net

After an hour in the gym, pumping weights to ensure full mental focus and muscle rigidity; I was ready to take the challenge of installing this device.

Note how the Smooth Hotness bezel sits flushed to the a1200 case. @Zetro, you are absolutely right about the griting. 2.5hours of sanding, surgical blade and fine hacksawing to get the smooooooooth finish.

I actually took all the screws off the keyboard and tweaked the metal plate with a slight bend of about .5mm just to ensure there was no pressure on the top of the cdrom, giving the eject sequence that smooth delivery glide the a1200 deserves.

As for the end result, you decide - pictures included.

Project cost £9.95 SFF cdrom ebay. 3hrs labour. Result - spot on, well worth doing.

I liked the pics (althought nicer quality would be a lot better), but most of all I liked the comments!

Just take your time, preparation, plenty of work place, isolation from humanity to ensure no distractions or lack of concentration.

Finally, think "Hotness, The New Improved." This will give you the necessary motivation to succeed.

Sorry about image quality, compressed JPEG, rubbish webcam.

The chocolate bit, that's not mine I'm on a diet, heh! I did the modifications in the kitchen, hence why there is "healthy" food everywhere.

Thanks for the positive comments!
