Hunter blew my mind when I first became aware of it in the early 2000s. Absolutely incredible technical achievement for a game of its age.

And I'm always trying to drum up more love for Liberation. The textures can be disabled to give the polygons a flat-shaded look.

Liberation is one of those games that had an interesting premise but were held back by the lack of user interface standards we know today. It would certainly be a good candidate for a remake.

More low-poly games can be found here : Low-poly 3D games

Did anyone mention Thunderhawk by Core Design. I didn’t play it enough to know if it was great but it impressed me at the time

I really liked Microprose F15 Strike Eagle II at the time.
The flat shaded graphics were really nice and moved fast enough for the game.

But you also need the manual and maps to enjoy it - there's much less fun to be had without them. Also, the game seems to be tuned for 68000 and runs too fast with accelerator.

How has nobody mentioned Epic yet? I was blown away by it when I saw it in the early nineties.

Technically it is impressive yes, but it doesn't really look like you do a whole lot in the game. Fly around, shoot some stuff, fly around some more... Fly around some more...

To be fair you could say the same of a lot of low poly space shooters, even Frontier to a point. Epic always reminded me of Robocop 3, but then again it's the same team I think.

ALIANATOR a 3D version of Defender
NO SECOND PRIZE probably the best motorbike amiga game (probably cause I love too much Super Hang On Amiga sound)

Man, this looks and sounds very similar to the Odyssey demo by Alcatraz - I wonder which came first.. I was at The Party in Aars when Odyssey was released, that was an odyssey of a demo compo.
