Moved the thread to the Coders Section as I plan to discuss some aspects of the game here.

The actual game is temp stalled while I write other routines to help with the game. As I have never programmed a game before, and I have not used Blitzmode before I need to play around and test stuff.

90% of the gfx are now sorted, and the shape/bob numbers are set.. I need to write the routine to allow me to determine 1/2 player and then allow me to move about on screen and plant the shapes down. This is relatively simple, and due to the simple nature of the game this should run in 1 frame..

I will write the main game loop pseudo-code later when I finish work, and then I can plan on writing the actual code. Thus-far I think the following will need checking
  1. Check Plr status
  2. Update Plr x pipe pieces
  3. Check timer
  4. update flow animation
  5. redraw screen
  6. swap screen
  7. Is it game-over??
  8. goto 1

Naturally that is extremely crude, but is the basis I will work from.

I know I'm a month late so you may have thought of this, but how about taking the first 2 pipe shapes on the left and rotate them 90 degrees anticlockwise? Also, have you considered the possibility of 2 pipes crossing over either as a "+" shape where they join or where one passes behind the other??

Is there any chance for finishing Overflow?

Or to expand it?

I had an idea of putting together Pipemania and Tetris dynamics for a game once, if it sounds appropriate; just have no tech skills yet.

I'd love to get back into this, but time is such a scarce commodity. Working full time, family and part time education takes up most of my time

Could you deploy your source code then? Someone could adopt it.

I am now looking into setting up a development environment on my Rasp-Pi. If I am successful I will look to do some more on this.

The code is almost non-existent (I got as far as creating the main menu, and setting up the game screen I think!)

I recently was looking into this thread.. I like the idea of having a Tetris mode. It could make for an intertesting game dynamic

2022 is the year of finishing what you started

Quite nifty to see the development being done using Visual Studio Code and then booting the result directly in WinUAE.

Way back in 2012 I have drawn an intro screen for Overflow, do you still gave it BippyM?

Erm.. I have found my original overflow I was doing in 1995. I thought I had lost this. I have all the source and everything.. I am well impressed, and even more impressed at how much I had actually done. I only remember doing the intro texts
