ASLPrefs not being used in ASL Requesters OS4.1FE Update2

Hello,
Can someone tell me if there is a bug where the ASLPrefs are not being read by ASL requesters?
I have set various options in the prefs app, but they are ignored with any program that calls an ASL requester.

asl.library version 53.54
aslprefs version53.4
AmigaOne x1000

Any info on how to get the preferences to stick is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

I haven't noticed this issue myself (all the same versions as you but my machine is an A1XE-G4). There is an override checkbox that you need to use to override an application's own ASL settings. If that option's not enabled, any application that defines its own ASL settings (which is probably the majority) won't be influenced by the settings in ASL prefs.

If override still doesn't work, check the file permissions on the asl.prefs file in ENV: and ENVARC:, and maybe see if SnoopDOS shows up any issues writing to the files.

There is an ASL patch coming with MUI. If it is active, ASL is not used at all but MUI overrides all requesters. Check S:User-Startup. IIRC AmiUpdate once installed it without asking.

Thankyou both!
I did not have the override checked (wasn't sure what it was for) AND the mui asl patch was active in my user-startup.

Thanks again.
