Nope... not cool at all. Way too hard and with a really stupid scoring system.

Thanks everyone who participated - 5 players is a record turnout this year, and I really do appreciate it.

It's the final few days of this extended play round, where we get to play two games and for a bit longer too.
This is your last chance to try these two before we go on to our next round - Ruff N Tumble. We last played Ruff in 2011, and maybe a few players remember it?

Fantastic! Score Capehorn!
you broke the Rainbow Islands (Amiga) World Record!

It's not every day, or even every round, where we get to say that!
It's great to see you slamming the Golds again, with a token score on Prehistorik you would be up with John. Still some time to turn those tables!

This round is over!

Rainbow Islands
This arcade classic never gets old, and the high scores are brand new too! Congrats on capehorn on smashing the world record held by Wolfadawn. Also great praise to kokoriko on a sterling effort, and BobbyZeal also joins the podium. Those three players also deserve extra merit as they were the only ones to beat the game.

1st - capehorn
2nd - kokoriko
3rd - BobbyZeal

Gemini Wing
Another arcade port (but Amiga lame arse shooter) received a warm welcome from the 19 players who participated. This time, john4p took the top spot - with the top score. BobbyZeal almost won the top score in second. And el_pasi returns to the podium in third.

1st - john4p
2nd - BobbyZeal
3rd - el_pasi

All of that moved Bobby up to 5th place, and el_pasi moves up to 4th. Hearty performances by pasquale and capehorn means there is still a chance to catch john. We now move onwards and upwards to a run and gun game (of which there are very few) Ruff and Tumble. Shoot. BOOM! Shoot. BOOM! - that kind of thing.

Thank you Lifeschool for your kind words earlier. I doubt it actually is the top score achieved as every life remaining is worth 1,000,000 points and I lost several (compare my 6 remaining lives to Kokoriko's 9). I've also read a rumour that there is a secret 100,000,000 point bonus, awarded if you enter every secret door but do not collect any of the power-ups and still complete the game - whether this applies to the Amiga version or not I don't know but I might give it a go next time.

My greatest Super League regret was last time this came up - I fired it up after midnight just after the round started and to my surprise I achieved the 50,000,000 with no practice. I would have loved to have played it more, but I kind of assumed I had the round won. Imagine my disappointment when I loaded the thread the day after the round had finished and Wolfadawn had livestreamed a better completion on the final day (an excellent video [ Show youtube player ], by the way, sadly now set to private) Incidently, my other go which I recorded [ Show youtube player ] that round contained some poor luck/an error (at 48:40) that in an instant cost me 52,000,000 points!

Such a shame Gemini Wing didn't provide as much fun. No fun at all IMO. Perhaps a score system involving furthest level reached, as opposed to highest score would have been more appropriate, but it's too late for all that now.
