repair hardfile
I was wondering if there is anyway to repair a hardfile with a read/write error. the Hard file is 6 gig. the only software I am aware of is Disksalv, but it only works on 4 gigs or less.

A hardfile cannot have a read/write error. It's simply not possible.
As the file is bigger than 4GB you probably have a 4GB problem, i.e. one partition overwriting another one and vice versa. Or even worse, you don't use a partitoned HDF. DiskSalv should be able to recover *this* problem as it does the same mistakes as the file system when accessing the large hard drive. Use salvage mode and use a Windows directory as destination. There is no way to "repair" a 4GB problem. |
