Unhappy What´s it like to work at Amigakit.com

I really wanted to post this because it really got under my skin

What´s it like to work at Amigakit.com ? (i got that in an Email exchange with a very nice guy from AmigaKit.com)

QUOTE: Its hard, doing Amiga stuff solely. We get a lot of stick every day.
We are treated like dirt, by a lot of people online, some have never ordered from us,
but think its ok to say stuff about us.

We are not perfect, some things don't work as planned and we are unable to spent a lot of time on one task.
We are doing the work of 3 to 4 people sometimes.

QUOTE END:

This made me so sad
I am so disappointed by People, that thread others like that

This is not good for anyone

Unfortunately if you are any "public" person at all, even in a tiny niche, you will get to a point where people will flat out invent outrageous stories to get their kicks.
Everyone wants the world to pay attention to them and if the topic is some personality or shop, lying is one way to become the star of the story.

That message was from AmigaKit.com. (the bold fonted part above)
I bought a few little things there and all went smooth. We exchanged a few Emails and he told me about the experience that he have. (the Bold text above)

That was really suprising to me, to say te least.
I dont think he wrote that for "kicks" but i dont know.
If anything, we should be thankful to have those guys around;

; and that would be the appropiate emoji

I do not understand this topic. If they are unhappy from people complaining, it means there is some communication fail between them and their customers.

Business in Amiga world is not about perfect work (amigans are VERY patient in general and do not expect quick and short term deliveries), but about proper communication. If the shop doesn't communicate with a customer, bad reputation is raising soon. But we already have a topic about this.

Now i am curious; what is your usually experience with AmigaKit.com ?
For me it was the first time so i dont really have any experience with them.

I've had 5 orders over the years and never had an issue. I don't know that I've ever had to communicate with them though. Paid my stuff and got it in the mail.

One of first my first orders from Amigakit was for my Acube Sam 440 Flex motherboard, ram, and OS4 back in 2008 or so. I'll never forget the day Fedex showed up with it! I still have the system and it still works fine. Since then I have ordered 2 Mediator A4000Di kits and a whole host of other items. I have had great service, on time delivery, and good communications every time.

Maybe I’m getting the bad luck of the draw but I find that orders I place are in limbo oftentimes for weeks with no updates and there is no communication and my emails aren’t answered. One time I had to file a dispute with my cc company to get things moving. I hope this was the exception and not the rule. But amigastore.eu was able to fill a fairly large order and ship it to me in California in a fraction of the time it’s taken for AmigaKit to fill an order for me.

I agree. I'm sure the cows I punch in the head don't want to talk about it.

If you people at Amigakit happen to be reading this, thanks for the good service The caravan goes on, never mind the dogs barking.

I've ordered. My impression was that shipping time was a little elastic and perhaps that's understandable for what I thought was one or two people running a hobby business. Actual quality of product, OK, just took far too long to arrive.

But then last year's legalistic bullshit, the "undesirable trademark opposition" vs. Amiga Addict (Simulant Systems), has pretty much guaranteed I will look everywhere else possible before giving them another chance. Doesn't seem like a hobby business any more. Looks like they have had some bad advice from some parasite lawyer and have registered every trademark they could get their hands on, including "A4000", "A1200", "A500", "A600", "Amiga Store", "Amibench" and no doubt others. Makes them look avaricious and shady.

I've ordered from them several times, never had an issue. I do not think they have done themselves any favours with some of their more shady actions, which is the root cause of a lot of the hate. For that they only have themselves to blame IMO.

they are just not so well organized, sometimes lose orders, accept orders where they got no stock, then you wait for your product indefinitely since the product is just not available anymore, ... happens in small shops, specially when the items are hard to find.

If you didn't get a refund, just mail again. They may be a bit under the water at times but they're not thieves.
