How do I get code onto my old Amiga?

So, I've found my old Amiga 1000.

What's the easiest way to get an executable over to it? Is there a Gotek equivalent with network connectivity? If so, how would I build a floppy disk image? Is there a hard disk emulator that works with the 1000 that I can transfer files over the network to?

Or am I thinking about this the wrong way?

Transfer files from PC to Amiga using a Gotek drive & ADF images
[ Show youtube player ]

Or just use WinUAE.

Ok, but is there a way to do it without physically moving USB drives? Like a network enabled USB stick, like there are with SD cards? Something I can add into my build process?

There was/is available something called a PC to Amiga transfer kit which consisted of a Parallel cable which would connect to Amiga to a PC with a piece of software.
Also with Amiga Forever there is some software called “Amiga Explorer”. But you would need some sort of HDD working on the A1000.

WinUAE on a PC with Amiga Forever for the A1000 Kickstart ROM would be the easiest and cheapest way to go. As for building floppy images etc.. then WinUAE allows for this by making .adf image files which if you have a Gotek drive on a A1000 will allow you to use.

Definitely check out Amiga Love’s YouTube channel, he does a lot with the Amiga 1000 and making it work in our modern world.

Also go to the Amigalove.com forums as they have some threads just on A1000 tweaks.

I do know of the parceiro which seems to do wonders for adding drives and other stuff via the expansion slot.
