Erm yes! From a very long time ago :-) Thank you for uploading them anyway... lots of my OctaMED stuff only plays correctly within OctaMED itself (3.0 I think) - it sounds weird even with the official (Amiga) standalone player and with DeliPlayer/EaglePlayer.. I must have taken the synthsound editor to its limits

This was always my favourite tune during my "trying to be MON/innovative with chip sound" era, the way it should be heard, from 3:20 onwards for "new effect!" alert:

A bit OT but anyone remembers the microsamples? Was an interesting trend on noisetracker that lasted a bit around 1989/1990 where in order to use more pure waveform some instrument loops were very reduced, like in the tens of bytes and that later morphed in the chiptuners; i used several microsamples in my compositions too.

speaking of buzzing wasps... med.chooseyourwarrior qualifies, heh ;-)
I'm listening through your old meds now, Mark. Great tunes btw. Didn't know meds like this existed, the few synth meds I knew were kind of boring. ;-)

Hmmh, some Synthtracker and some Synthesis mods are worth to be listened to a second time, imo.

And back on topic: I remember I was blown off my chair when I first heard PvdV's Hybris, and I listened to it over and over...

Search for "Imploder v1.0 The (1989)(Discovery Software)[cr PCI].adf"
Also on that disk are a couple of programs which play sound, Tune and Drums. I'm not sure whether they play just a subset of tracks from the Imploder music or are different.

Ah, that's the tune I remember from way back when...

Not that it's an Amiga tune but Reed did a cover of this one in .xm format I'm afraid.. http://amp.dascene.net/detail.php?de...ules&view=6176

My version of Imploder 4. Nothing can beat the original though, but I had so much fun making this. Paul van der valk is a god to me You can't hear those kind of genius modulations in any other songs.

very nice conversion.
It seems slower than the original hybris ingame music : [ Show youtube player ]

Why have you choosed to convert it using the tool protracker on Amiga, there's plenty of others trackers
Your motivation about the choice of protracker is the ease of listening to modules, editing on other platforms ?

Well, it is right, but easy solution, increase the bpm in Protracker.

The reason why I do conversions in protracker is for several reasons.

First because it is where I feel more comfortable doing conversions and more faster.

Second is because the score is easily understood in case someone is interested in converting to a more modern platform.(Cubase/Logic/Renoise)

Third, a .mod can be easily imported by many other programs and so you can easily do the conversion. For example, I just have to import this mod in AHX or Pretracker and I just had to make instruments, modify arpegios and a few modifications more, all patterns (notes) are imported automatically.
Another example, If I want use the tune in a CPC, ZX or MSX, I can import easily a .mod in ArkosTracker and the same. in few minutes, I can make a AY-3-8910A version. And so, a lot of examples....

and lastly, a mod can be played on any platform.

Hmmmm.... are you sure?, the second arpegio is

A#2 059 : A#2 D#3 G-3

When I convert songs and I found this kind of weird arpegios, sometimes I try to change de order (sometimes it works), for example:

F#2 049 : F#2 A#2 D#3

but I tested that and sounds very bad. Paul van der Valk uses a speed for play the arpegios very slow. Protracker cant modify the speed of play arpegios and maybe that is the reason for it sounds different.

If someone is wondering that maybe he uses 4-note arpeggios, that's not the case, I've already checked it by listening to the wave very slowly to make sure he only uses 3 notes.

In the ATARI ST version, I play the arpegios more slowly like the original, and seems sounds better.

Anyway, does anyone else think that the second chords are wrong? Maybe my ear is not as accurate as in the nineties.
