Identify A500+ 1Mb Expansion

I have no idea who made the expansion in my A500+ but its 1Mb and shrouded in a shiny chromed wedge-shaped steel box with all access sealed by soldered points. So i cannot see in it or take pics of innards.

Any idea WHICH firm might have made such a stupid design (dont think it has a Varta inside cos its made for A500+ to expand to 2Mb Chip and A500+ (used to) have Varta onboard.

Commodore A501+. A 1Mb card that looks exactly like the A501 512Mb. Comes in the same wedge shaped, soldered shut metal wedge. Has a Varta battery that needs removed as well.

Why would it have a Varta inside if its ONLY for A500+ which already has a battery???

I opened up my 601 thinking it had a battery in it --- it did not
