sd IDE adapter boot fine on cold start but not after a reset

Trying to troubleshoot a strange issue with my SD IDE adapter. It does boot fine when I switch on the amiga 1200, but if I reset the computer, when it comes back, I see the shell with the ">1" prompt

Basically it won't load the WB again, until I completely shut off the amiga and turn it on again. How do I solve this?

Start by booting it into the 1> prompt and then typing assign and maybe insert a workbench disk and say df0:c/info

This will give some idea as to where the machine booted from.

Well, I would rephrase this like so:

- start booting into the 1> prompt and then type CD to see which partition you are on.

A floppy disk is not needed. If you know the name of your system partition use this:

System:C/Info

Replace System by the name of your system partition.

Even better would be to run this: http://thomas-rapp.homepage.t-online.../hddreport.lha
However, it needs Multiview or More to display the report. If you are not booting from your system partition, then you might need to copy the report from ram:hddreport.txt to your hdd, reboot into Workbench and then read it.

Thanks to both;

Running the cd command show me that the drive it is trying to run from is "AmigaOS3.9"; which does not make any sense to be honest.

This is a 3.9 installation that I made with WinUAE and copied on the sd card on my real amiga. Why is it trying to boot from what it looks like to be the CD drive, instead of the DH0? I have only one drive on my 1200; which is the DH0; I don't even have a cd connected to it, so this makes no sense to me

Thanks Thomas; I tried to get HDDReport but without being able to boot from the Workbench, I was just getting "command not found error" in the CLI.

I solved the problem in a very unorthodox way: I grabbed a HDF from classicWB, deleted everything on it, and copied the content of my drive that was not booting. Once done that, the drive booted correctly. Clearly I had something messed up in the drive settings, and I wish I would be able to learn how to troubleshoot such issues, because the only place where I know where to look for is the startup sequence; but there was nothing there like a boot flag or things like that
