Best emulation news site?
I used to frequent Retrogames and Zophar's Domain, but both have become very stagnent recently - no updates for weeks sometimes. Can anyone recommend some good news sites?

NGEmu ( http://www.ngemu.com ) is pretty good, but it focuses on emulation of newer systems (DS, PS2, Game Cube, etc). The others I used to check regularly (Emu Unlimited, Emu Camp, Emux) have either shut down or haven't been updated in months. Suppose there just isn't enough emulation news these days.

You should be a member of the Total-Emu forum http://www.total-emu.org/. They post lots of emulation news although 90% of the posts is other crap. So join the fun!

It's not like the "good old" days, but they cover most things that NG doesn’t. Otherwise I just read NG. Most older systems are emulated good enough for PC, apart from mame updates. NG, with all romz0r users does captures the enthusiasm I’m missing from the older sites. While GC emulation won’t be playable for another say 3 years.. its still fun to read about 2 fps Zelda.. just like WSMC 2fps Zelda 10 years later |

By far the best. Yes, it is French. NGemu.com is the worst, and their pop-up ads are just annoying. |

Zophar used to be the defacto standard when it came to emu news. I remember I used to visit that site everyday after work.
When most classic consoles where emulated I think many people got bored because there where no challenges anymore and they realized old games sucked bad in comparison to GTAIII. Now the emu scene is abit different, we have emulators for consoles and emulators for phones and PDA's, so there is a lot of new scenes. I would be happy if there was a Zophar site again that could run news updates everyday on all emulator scenes. |
