Smile Games-X Magazine

On a different note... I noticed when doing my free Amiga book, that Amiga Magazine Rack is missing a lot of the Games-X magazine images.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1AiVi73qXqCnMd5MV24tfdwwRvwj1uNfL?usp=sharing

A couple of years ago, when I finally completed my Games-X collection I scanned them all in for people to enjoy and uploaded on my Google Drive (Kept trying on Archive but if kept failing.) I put it in CBZ format (comic book reader), as someone can rename the file extension from cbz to zip and the have direct access to all the individual images, and then make it in whatever alternate format they prefer.

The free comic book reader I personally use is https://www.cdisplayex.com/

Anyway as long as people don't try to make direct profit off the scans or claim credit, then I am happy (and encourage) anyone in re housing and sharing the scans have my blessing.

If anyone knows how to contact Amiga Magazine Rack or HOL administrators (I did try a few years ago but never got a response (probably an old email address :-) )) then I would love to see these scans linked into their sites, so another piece of Amiga history is stored and retained. Likewise if anyone is able to help in uploading these scans to archive, that would be awesome.

Anyway in the meantime enjoy this great weekly mag, that meant so much to me as a school kid buying the weekly issues instead of using my dinner money, to get my gaming info fix

I think there is also a Games X preview issue

I loved it - they tried something new, a weekly games magazine. Had some great sections, loved when they visited a computer shop in the UK every week with photos of the customers.

Underrated magazine imho

Thank you for sharing!

Just note, issue 26 is twice in list.

I think I still can upload magazines in AMR, but would need RCK/Codetapper's permission. I know some magazines were not downloaded complete to preserve space (not sure if space is still issue here) and only articles about Amiga games and front pages were loaded.

It should be okay, I think. I've uploaded issue 1:

Cody, I uploaded issue 2, but it almost look like your scan was resized while mine is still original size. Is there a process that will resize images once uploaded??

Should this be moved to AMR subforum?

No, I resized the scans manually to around 1200 pixels width.

Yes, the AMR subforum would be good.

Should say that right away, loaded 2-3 issues, will have to redo them when I have time.

I can load them all over this weekend. To setup reviews and articles, that will take bit longer.

Reloaded resized issue 2, 2 more issues to resize and reload.

https://amr.abime.net/issue_849_pages

Some of issues were already there, will not make any changes to them yet, while some others have missing pages, but will probably check quality of scans before re-uploading.

TheDrisk,

Issue 8 is missing pages 21/22. Do you still have/own magazine?

Thanks!
