Played AGA-version. Was a bit lucky with comms screens on Easy-level and not so lucky on Medium-level

AGA version comm screens doesn't seem too random... I didn't have a look into it, but it seems that they appear after the same race.

After race 1 you get environment all the time for instance. Bad answer and you're toast with 0 money...

I recommend NTSC with AGA for a smoother play (doesn't matter on emulators but on my 060 it does)

I missed the Rodland round but certainly not missing that one.

Hi JOTD and el_pasi - welcome to the round!

During our play of Super Cars 1 a while ago, a group of us found all of the right answers to those communication questions, which meant everyone got a fair chance to make progress.

Thanks to JOTD, I found a list of correct responses here on EAB, from which I have compiled a list on Lemon Amiga. JOTD also discovered the rules for these screens. I dont know how much of this applies to the AGA version, but so far so good.

https://www.lemonamiga.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17891

If anyone can help me fill in the missing questions, simply save state the first page when the screen first comes up. Then after your play, you can go back to the savestate and try to work out where you went wrong. Thats what I did.

The AGA version shares the same logic. I "discovered", well I'd rather say I have guessed the rules. Even if I have the code available, I was too lazy to confirm what I was assuming.

What is certain is that sometimes you don't give the good answer but you aren't thrown out of the round. You just get a penalty that shows in the end. Which makes it difficult even with savestates because unless you get 0 fine or max points/money in the end, or you don't get thrown out immediately, you can't know which question was incorrectly answered. Pretty simple, yet smart system they designed. Damn I love this game.

^ Thats how I did it. I saved the driving instructor screen, and went through all of the questions until it gave me all five bonus points, and this confirms the correct responses. Also did this for the Press guy, although from a pool of 30 questions, it's only possible to find a few new correct answers each time.

Forgot to say thanks Graham for the video. It was helpful to find a few of those questions for my list.

Hard: 38!

(Damn it, hard race 6 is unfair! - Almost every computer car that hits the train skips the lower part of the track!)

38 in hard mode is certainly quite a feat! I don't think I ever reached this score, ever!!

And yes race 6 hard mode can be won only if other cars destroy each others with missiles and get killed by train. That's how I got into 1st position maybe once... Else yes the cars "cheat" all the time.

Thanks, it was not easy!

Medium is no walk in the park either! But I made 39 just now.

Could you perhaps fix level 6 by modifying where cars are spawned after hitting the train? Might be easier than messing with the logic

I suppose if they spawn after the point where they cheat, it could work..
