Gods...bah!

Hello, I am a n00b.

Also, I'm just wondering has anyone...ever ever ever...won the game GODS from start to finish, with no cheats (if there are any *too lazy to check*). Because, I HAD it for Amiga when I was a childer...and I have it now, and I've never been able to.

I'm sure it's quite impossible actually. The bosses are just...ridiculous.

Yes.

i dont think you can finish the game
the object of this game is to get the highest score possible
as each time you go around it gets even harder
i have managed to go around 3 3/4 times thats after 7 hrs of playing
before i finaly got killed of.

Like Shoonay said the game is finishable but you need to practice a lot to know in what moment which opponents appear and how to get to the secrets so your score would become higher. More score means that you can occasionaly get bonus like extra energy, extra life. I finished Gods many times. I remember that I did not do it just like that. Each time I tried I was getting further and further and further.

BTW: This game is excellent!

you have obviously not clicked you fire button once you have reached the end
as this will then take you around for a 2nd time the game then starts to get harder when you reach the end again click fire button
you are now on your 3rd time around
even harder now, reach the end again 4th time around
things start to get very very difficult by now

Of course you are right but the game has an outro so it can be considered as finishable

The main interest in Gods for me (it's my all time favourite game) is to find all secret passages/hidden treasures and be able to activate as many as possible of them during the same play.

Aha! There is a hacked version of gods around (with megatrainer) that triggers a filthy copy protection that the bitmaps built in, which basically makes all the monsters virtually unbeatable, and it hangs the game around halfway through. Maybe you are experiencing this?

I did finish gods without cheating. It just takes some careful planning with the weapons, I can easily beat it if I keep the spears for world 3 and 4 (afaik I didn't switch weapons in the fourth world, could be mistaken).

As for Robin Hood: I never ever beat that game. I can't even find all the pickups. The collision detection in this game is a bit to icky for my taste, you get hit when you really shouldn't. Gods doesn't suffer from that at all, it's just a well polished and brilliant game.

The Energy megatrainer is independent of the copy protection as I have installed on a properly cracked image and it works. However, it jumps straight into the game (i.e. no intro).

I think Gods is the only arcade game I ever 'finished'
Though like twizzle said I ended up just going round & round...

My low boredom threshold usually kicks in well before I get to the end of most run+jump games.
I'm not sure if that made Gods unusually good or easy for me.

I finished Gods. I think it's the best game on the Amiga.
