What's an Abime?

Ok, so I've been wondering this for about 5 years now. What does the Abime in abime.net mean?

Sorry if it's something obvious, or something I should have read in the TOS, FAQ, or... Also, mods, feel free to move/delete this if needed (or just keep it around for a laugh.)

"Abîme" is French for an abyss.

abyss in french. RCK is french. i spend in this abyss too much time, i see abyssal fishes, tentacled menaces from other space and often also Fred.
