A500 Rev6A and IDE68K + 8MB Fast RAM combo not working.

As title suggests, I've been trying to install a IDE68K/8MB-combo that I bought from mkl. I can't figure out what is wrong.

I've soldered OVR and INT2 to the sidecart expansion connector. It detects the 8MB RAM as it should, but the IDE controller itself is operating slower than a floppy disk (about half the speed), and more often than not it crashes when I try to open hdtoolbox. It scans through SCSI address 0 and all units there, before it just crashes and throws a guru in my face. Usually #8000 000B, but have also seen #8000 0004 and #8000 0003.

I've tried multiple CPUs, done hardware tests in DiagROM and even tried a completely different 6A board. No luck. I've also tried different power supplies. CF/IDE-adapter with two different cards and an actual IDE hard drive. All behaves exactly the same.

Anyone ever had this combo working? Any ideas to where to troubleshoot next?

Hi, do you have any updates on the issue? Having similar, but no HD0 at all at A500 rev6A + combo v402: https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=113803
May add: tried external +5V to adapter - didn't help
