exact size

Would someone with a warp1260 mind measuring it....I am interested in whether or not it will fit in a checkmate 1500 case. My B1230MkIV has maybe 1mm to spare and if the warp card is the same size then the connectors at the end will be blocked.

Cheers

Exactly! Without shortage we would have cards probably but it would not be great in the software and drivers arena. It's one of the reasons my ppc projects collapsed - no proper clue on how to do the software.

Looking forward to a WARP4060 card for my Amiga 3000D :-) It can wait for a while...

I don't know about a Warp 1260, but at least a Warp 560 (and a non-standard socketed one at that) should fit in a Checkmate 1500 case (or similar size), according to Peter (via Discord - CS-Lab Warp#Warp1260, July 19, 2021):

If you use a Checkmate-like case then it's not a problem. In the standard A500 case you'd have to make some adjustments. I can't tell you what exactly because my Miggy is always opened. I think the heatsink is too high.

Likewise. I have no doubt that the Warp 3060/4060 will be worth the wait.

It should be very interesting actually, the Warp 30/4060, Matze's TK-060, and the new Vampire Krakken (3/4000 card) come out around the same time...

Until then we have to wait!

Hopefully all in 2022 are released.

Where do you find info on these cards? I only have been tracking the Warp in hopes of getting one...

TK060 thread on A1k.org: https://www.a1k.org/forum/index.php?threads/73349/

TF 30/4060, not much talk on it, but some info on the TerribleFire Forums:

https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/forum/vi...824&hilit=4060

The Vampire board for A3/4000 should be similar specs as the IceDrake. Basically a Vampire V4: http://www.apollo-computer.com/icedrake.html

The big question for me is how much RAM the Krakken will have, as the CPU slot is limited to 128MB.

Personally I am leaning towards the Vampire (Krakken) board. I have a V2 and V1200 and they are both impressive and easily beat my existing 060's at most things.

Hmm, based on what you shared. I'm leaning to the Vampire board. Strange there is no press I could find on it. I wonder how availability will be for it and how you will order it...

The 060 has rev 6, so I would not be surprised when it does 105MHz.

There was no real press on the Krakken. It was briefly listed on their website along side the FireBird (A500/A2000), and IceDrake (A1200), but they removed reference to it.

They focus now on getting the Firebird and Icedrake out first, then they will move on to the Krakken. I would expect more info on the Krakken to be out next year.

They plan to harmonize specifications on all their accelerators to make programming easier (same specs, same target basically), so I would only guess/assume the Krakken will be very similar specifications to the IceDrake. As I mentioned the amount of RAM is the only question I have. I have no doubt it will include the V4 FPGA, onboard IDE, RTG, and 100Mbit Ethernet.

There is some info here on the Firebird and IceDrake. They are already testing the Firebird board and that should be out by the end of this year.

Yes, time will tell! I really appreciate the work of all Amiga developers; amazing stuff!

BTW, am I right in assuming you're the DarrenHD from HD-Zone? If so, many thanks for your very helpful Quikpak page.

Not that it matters much, but it's interesting that the A4000-060-040 XP Install disk has apparently never been found? At least after 20+ years there is now a digital version of the full manual for the GVP T-Rex card.

Does anyone know anything about when these might be available? I have contacted the team but had no response. Keeping it pure 060 but with RTG is my A1200 dream!

Hi Gregory, I may still have the disk, but I sold my A4000T with the Quickpak XP 060 card a few years ago. At least there is a photo of it here:

BTW my website has changed so older links may not work, best to start at the main page, http://www.hd-zone.com. I still need to fix some things on it...

DarrenHD, thanks! Very nice (and helpful)! I'll send you a message so that I don't rabbit trail the thread.
