Another shootem'up needed...
This one looks like this...
I've played it in an arcade back when i didn't had any home comp/console, it looks like Commando on C64, the view is the same (up), but with much better graphics. There are two controllable hero's - both kinda lookin like Mr. Schwarzenegger ![]() ![]() You just go up, fight with your hands, do a 'tornado kick' like MK, backslash and stuff, but when you pick up a gun you can shoot with it. As much as i remember there where bossess after each level, like a killin' Chopper or a tank and stuff... it wasn't [Metal Gear Solid] ![]() |

...i got some strnage feeilings that that's not the game i played about 10 years ago. In Ikari3 i can't even circle my around - he can only face up, and cannot pick up things. As much as i remembered, i could easy face any direction, and there was a 3rd button to pickap stuff. Oh yeah, and the player sprites were much bigger and tough lookin' ![]() |

Then play the arcade version with mame. I can confirm the game you described is Ikari 3.
Ikari 3 and Ikari Warriors are different games (because one is Ikari 3 DOH!) and only Ikari Warriors is available on amiga. (and ikari 2, with a different name) edit: If you are already running the mame version and can't turn around, you need to configure controls for this game and assign a key to DIAL function. Unfortunately it won't play as good as a real arcade joystick unless you have a joystick that can rotate around. |

You need to press tab during emulation and assign each joystick function yourself.

It does work on MAME, I have a sidewinder joypad and I put the DIAL functions to the L trigger & R trigger. L rotates the guy anti-clockwise whilst R rotates the guy Clockwise. Have you tried your joypad on other MAME games, are they working fine? I think I had some problems with the Ikari Warriors games, but perserve, it will work. It's been such a long time since I tried the MAME games..I must be getting old..

You DO know this isn't a Mame board? Anyway..
To save hi scores you need the hiscore.dat, available from http://www.mameworld.net/highscore/ - just unzip the file to your Mame folder and you're sorted. |
