Street Fighter IV WIP
Just found this on YouTube:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=udl8KCiLA-8 Mixed reactions from people, but I actually think it might turn out ok. I love most 2D fighters in MAME, including SF III, but not so much a full 3D fighter fan. They always feel a little sluggish to me, but this might have a system I actually like. |

*A*W*E*S*O*M*E*
That's how the first few seconds of the fight looks... ... but then, the closeup, the ride-around-the-player camera view, the huge-flaming-explosions-with-fireworks-and-particles punches, it all kinda like ruins the overall feeling... Don't get me wrong, but I would *REALLY* hope for it to be as much classic SF2 as possible in 3D, that's just it. |

Looks great! Looks like it plays like SF2HF. I don't mind the eye candy.
BTW, SFEX played well, even though it had 3d graphics. |

I'm with you 5h00n4y; let's hope they get the balance right. This is a very early example, so the final game will be different.
This may make me finally buy a next gen console and a HDTV!!! |

I fecking hate people who talk like that.
Game looks cool though. "Like they are gonna be able to fight with moves and a load of other stuff that is gonna be totally amazing" "it's like totally something that's not been seen, the art direction is something that's pretty darn unique, it's something really looking wow, like special." STOP IT! |

I don't know why Ryu and Ken's faces look terrible. The rest looks alright, I'm not sold on the new art style yet, and the backgrounds are very low-detail (if you see higher res screenshots, the people in the background are low-polygon PS1 style objects that move like they're made from wood).
I'd still prefer 2D hand-drawn pixelart in some awesome new high resolution (like Super Street Fighter II Turbo High Definition Remix, also coming out soon), but I guess it would take waaay too long to draw every frame. Nice to finally see it in action, it moved very, very nicely. Let's hope there's an arcade release first! |

Indeed, Street Fighter EX+alpha for the PSX was quite cool, Street Fighter EX2 was like... "the work of a graphician made by a musician" as I'll quote after my local paper mag PSX Extreme
The faces on that above youtubed fight look awful - IMHO they did managed to make the characters "classic", but on closeups, damn, they look just too classically crappy, lol :/ |

As Retro-Nerd said, I've been playing it in this:
http://nebula.emulatronia.com/ But I also thought MAME added support recently and it was playable. Last edited by Bloodwych; 08 January 2008 at 13:25. |

Wow, I'm not a Street Fighter nut - I haven't been following the series at all, apart from seeing screens from new games. But this looks fantastic, imo.
And the animation! Isn't that the most fluid thing you've ever seen in a fighting game? I'm very impressed! |

Street Fighter III works fine in MAME (there are slight graphical glitches, but nothing serious).
