PCMCIA CD-Rom not working with Blizzard 1230 MK-II

I have recently added a blizzard 1230 MK-II accellerator (with 64MB Ram and FPU) to my A1200 and everything was working well.

I also purchased a PCMCIA CD-ROM (Zappo) and have had problems getting it working. I decided to try it without the Accellerator and guess what - it works fine!

Has anyone experienced these problems before, and more importantly found a way to get them to work together?

Cheers

hmm, I thought blizzards were fine with the pcmcia, but it seems like you're experiencing the famous 4mb pcmcia clash.

Coze - what's the 4mb clash all about? I just tried playing with my RAM config on the card, and removed both 32mb simms - the CD drive now works... Is this a RAM setup and configuration issue that I can work around or if I add anything will it go pear shaped again?

Thanks

Over 4mb fast ram conflicts with the PCMCIA adress space which "disables" your PCMCIA port
Had that problem with my Viper 630 accelerator in my A600, it had 8mb fast ram so I couldn't use my Alfa Data CD1200

So basically I can either use the CD-rom, or have RAM in the accelerator - or get a new accelerator?

am not sure I want to know the answer, but cheers anyways

You could try and find the SCSI kit för the accelerator so you can use an external SCSI cd-rom but these SCSI kit's are rare.
I would sell the accelerator and buy the Blizzard MKIV which is a much better accelerator on all terms
