Connecting a IDE CDrom drive to my A1200 & accelerator card
Hi All
Looking for, How to guide to Connecting a IDE CDrom drive to my A1200 I have The 4-Device Buffered IDE interface for the Amiga A1200 http://www.2e0zak.co.uk/b/id.jpg TEAC CD-224E / Dell 079ETT CD ROM Drive (B94 Version) http://www.2e0zak.co.uk/b/cc.jpg -------------------------------------------- And I am having some troubles with my Microbotics M1230XA accelerator card http://www.2e0zak.co.uk/b/m1230xa.jpg Put it in to the A1200 and it do not show up in ( BOOT Screen ) or then WB is loaded too Do i need a driver for the accelerator card and do i need KS 3.1 Rom install. My A1200 as KS 3.0 Rom install HELP PLZ |

About the card you can download manual and software here:
http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/mbx1230 perhaps you can find in it a solution. With KS3.0 the memory on this card needs to be configured, but without SIMM your Amiga should boot. - I would test it without RAM and with a different SIMM. - I would verify if the card really doesn't touch the metal shield inside the A1200. - If you have a 3,5" hard drive you could have power issue. |

About the CD-ROM drive:
If the CD-ROM drive is being mounted externally, connect a 40-way ribbon cable from the drive to the secondary IDE channel on the 4-way buffered interface. Configure the drive as Master and supply power to it from a PC PSU Molex connector. Install IDEFix to get the CD-ROM drive recognized. Think about mounting the drive internally when you've got it working properly. |
