AmFTP 1.91 Registered

I have downloaded AmFTP 1.91 from Aminet, but it is a shareware version. I wanted to register it, but the upload is 20 years old and the author's email included is not working anymore. Do anyone has a keyfile for this SW or a valid contact to the author?

There is some registration tool in the package, that wants me to pay by a card, but to be honest - I do not want to share my card details with a 20 years old Amiga application.

It seems AmFTP was released by diGiTAL cORRUPTiON so should be availabe somewhere...

I managed not AmFTP to accept any of those keys (thank you jurassicman) and I absolutely have no idea how those DeviousTools should work. Seems there is a file called .resource, that is an LZX archive containing some split files. Also there is some exe, that does nothing and has Project icon with no default tool. But regarding the doc it shall really contain AmFTP 1.92. Can someone help me?

I want to get AmFTP working as I was once very satisfied with that simple tool. I will try RNOXfer if I fail.

You should be able to run the exe to get a custom pack frontend where you can unpack the programs included in the pack.

In this case it seems that the .exe has an icon that has been set into wrong type (Project instead of Tool). Use your favourite icon editor to change the icon type to Tool, or try to launch the .exe directly from the shell.. or delete the icon and try to launch the exe then.

But I tried to run the tool without the icon (clicked to it in Opus) and it seems to do nothing.

Runs fine here on an OS3.9 setup under E-UAE and also on MorphOS (and I even doubleclicked it from DOpus Magellan 2 under MorphOS).

Do you have the Executable protection bit set? Or maybe it requires something you're missing then.... hard to say quickly, but the archive/exe should be fine otherwise...

I got it working finally. But it is somehow stupid. It still throws that I must run AmiTCP, AS225r2 or compatible TCP/IP stack first. I am running Roadshow (otherwise I would not be able to download this soft), AmFTP1.91 is satisfied with it.

There seems to be couple cracks of 1.91 at the ftp (Non TOSEC Applications/Archive/AmFTP), but in the .nfo they tell that 1.91 is a bugged release overall...

If you want a fast client with more modern features, but still with a simple GUI, RNOXfer is indeed a good choice

I have tried RNOXfer a few times, but it just takes a long time to start up when compared to other alternatives. Right now I am using AmiTradeCenter when I need a bigger GUI and AmiFTP (which starts up immediately) when it's just a few files. I should try again AmFTP and see how it compares.

Maybe RNOXfer takes a long time because of Hollywood? Other MUI programs are quick enough on my 060 with 3.8 + muimaster.library 020+ v5...

Would be nice if all the Am* programs from Vapor was released as open source, but maybe the source is long gone?

If the source still exist maybe we wouldn't need to rely on cracked versions and also
someone could maybe continue developing the apps.

Yeah, the embedded Hollywood interpreter takes a while to load on 68k machines... on NG systems it's pretty instant.
