Improve list view (Workbench 3.1)
Hello everyone! Somehow i don't care much about icons any more and usually prefer the "show -> by name" list view when opening drawers on Workbench. Is there a way to change the font colour of drawer-names so they are more distinguishable from file-names? Cheers!

I think Directory Opus 5 will do that for you.

Thanks for the suggestion! But DOpus 5 seems a little overpowered for this tiny task. I was thinking more of some little tool/commodity like MagicMenu or NoIconBorder.

Any filemanager should do the trick. In most cases you can also avoid WB.

There is no commodity that does what you're asking for. And once you actually start using Workbench this way, you'll notice lots and lots of other problems, like the extremely slow speed.
DOpus 5 is your best bet. Or keep using Workbench, but do what every Amiga user has done since the beginning of time: Always have a shortcut handy to run a real filemanager and use Workbench only for starting programs. |

Ok, that's a pity. I have been using DOpus 4 for quite some time now. Maybe I just keep it running in the background then. It would have been nice though to highlight drawers on Workbench just like in common file requesters.
Anyway, thanks for the info! |

An alternative option if you prefer using Workbench is to upgrade Workbench itself. Every version of Workbench after 3.1 highlights drawers in a different colour in listview mode.

Really? Well, that's a little emberassing because it never catched my eye when playing around with os 3.2. Anyway, thanks for the notice!

It's something I took for granted, having been using OS 3.9 for 20+ years now I'd forgotten that it wasn't like that in 3.1. And 3.2 has more or less inherited 3.9's Workbench.
