Shadow of the Beast III - slow music
I've got SOTB3 on WHDload and the music is much slower than I remember it. It's normal speed when loaded from an ADF.
Is it something to do with PAL/NTSC? The game appears to be the right speed at 50 Hz. I'm using KG's version. |

Which processor & how much RAM do you have? Some slaves do not work well if you only have the standard 7Mhz 68000. Others don't work well without Fast RAM?
Which version of the slave do you have? Check the WHDload bugtracker? http://mantis.whdload.de/search.php?...e_status_id=-2 |

Ah cheers Alex. I should have mentioned that this is running in WinUAE. I think I set up the config as an A1200 but I'll have a play around and checks the version like you suggested.

A standard 1200 configuration may have no Fast RAM?

Just had a quick look;
CPU 68020 cycle exact CE CPU frequency set to 4x(A1200) Chipset & Chipset Extra set to AGA KS 3.1 RAM 2 meg Chip & 8 meg Fast Everything else pretty much standard. The display is set to 1920x1080p @ 50Hz and low-latency sync with now buffering (which is totally smooth) I've mucked around with some settings but nothing seems to make a difference. I'll try some more when I have more time. Slave version is 1.3 btw |

Play the game from ADF/IPF with WinUAE in A500 PAL configuration and see if the music then plays at the correct speed?

Yes mate. It's only a problem on WHDLoad.

This issue happens for me also when running the game (WHDLoad version) from real hardware (A1200 68030 32MB FAST).

I had the same thing and guess it 's due to kickstart matching process. Don't know if this is right, but seems the code does not get enough cpu power at times. It's not for this game only, with some configs many games go slower than normal.

See if they have been reported before on the WHDload bug tracker. If not then submit a bug report. If they have then post your details and maybe it will escalate the issue.
