Obitus translation need help for French, German, spanish & Italian
Hi,
I am near to finishing beta update of Obitus: + rawdic imager (+support for NTSC) + trainer + splash config window With help for french translation of DLFRSILVER, i'am finishing tools for translation (attached) it's working with included beta slave version. You can compile yourself easily your langage file. However, special characters and accents are possible now wirth some limitation. updated: special characters are possibles with some limitations (see:https://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p...1&postcount=11 and https://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p...0&postcount=12 for fonts editor) Text length limitations are indicated at the beginning of the 8 files to be translated. The final file can be compacted with the formats natively supported by WHDLoad, but this is not necessary. There is not much text to translate. French translation and being finalized and verified by Denis (thanks to him. Would anyone be interested in the following translations: - Italian (affected to SimonPPC) 100% - French (affected to DLFRSilver) 100 % - german (converted PC text) 100% - spanish (converted PC text) 100% (others languages are possible on request, if there are person to do the work) I would like to include these translations in the Obitus Whdload package as I did for Liquid Kids? Merry Christmas Released on 01/01/2020: http://www.whdload.de/games/Obitus.html Last edited by CFou!; 03 January 2020 at 17:38. |

DLSYLVER is verifying and testing french translation today. the biggest constraint is that some texts must not exceed a certain length. there are 8 files to translate and each one has its own constraints in terms of text or name length. Denis is currently annotating these opposites according to the problems encountered during the French version test. if you exceed the text you will have a bug like on the image which is attached. before posting here the tools to translate the italian version, I will make another post with screenshots of display example for each of the 8 files. This will make it easier to understand what the texts are for and what the constraints are. I remind the accents and special characters are not possible. |

attached file to translate in italian
Obviously only the texts between two quotes must be translated in the following 8 files: "Obitus-IT-Items.s" "Obitus-IT-TXT1.s" "Obitus-IT-TXT2.s" "Obitus-IT-TXT3.s" "Obitus-IT-TXT4.s" "Obitus-IT-TXT5.s" "Obitus-IT-TXT6.s" "Obitus-IT-TXT7.s" You can create the final file "ObitusIT.bin" by compiling the file "Make_Obitus_IT_File.asm" with BARFly and test the result yourself in game. But, if you don't have BARFly or the skills on this subject, post the eight translated files here and I will create an ObitusIT.Bin file that you can test with the "whdload's slave" also attached in the archive inluded slave beta readme: version 1.2g (xx.12.2019) done by CFou! |

solution might be to replace by example:
[ for é ] for è \ for ê @ for à $ for ù or other spécial caracter used in special language. If sompebody is interested to rewrite fonts i can dump all fonts in raw format.. A special font could be used by langage. by example: ObitusGB-font ObitusGB-font1 ObitusGB-font2 ObitusGB-font3 ObitusFR-font ObitusGB-font ObitusGB-font1 ... updated: 3 Obitus fonts attached: Last edited by CFou!; 26 December 2019 at 19:50. |

it works perfectly here !!
I tested with several save games. you have followed the instructions, no object text has more than 19 letters. Perfect! so it should work for all objects. I am attaching a new beta version which supports the Italian file and the compiled language file. So you can see the result yourself . Last edited by DamienD; 28 December 2019 at 19:57. yes,
and different fonts can by created by language. but with limitation already french fonts created but you need (for french) use: [ for é ] for è \ for ê $ for ù @ for à (but and automatique space created after by original code so i'll soon replace it by another character by example: ^) what are the main accents you need for Italian? (I probably wouldn't have enougth sapce to put them all because I have to replace existing special characters.) see here for only ascii supported characters (32 to 122): https://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p...8&postcount=10 Last edited by CFou!; 28 December 2019 at 00:55. |

5 accents is possible!!. so you can use accents in your traduction but only (à è ì ò ù). I will do after the conversion (perhaps automaticaly) and will created tommorow italien fonts with (à è ì ò ù). ps: I remind you that to translate the files there are size limits per line (not same by file to translate). Sometimes it will take a little imagination to reformulate and not exceed the maximum size. In case of overflow => graphics bug ... |
