I'm not sure if I know exactly what's going on. I like that OT is back in Today's Posts, but surely there should be an option to filter out OT from Today's Posts? For those who don't want to see OT there?

It can't be that hard, and I'm just thinking for all the others who don't like the faggotry.

EDIT - there is such an option, is there! Is there? I think there is. I don't know what to think.

there WAS as there was no need anymore for it when OT got ostracized, it was eliminated. now RCK has tied the OT to the Today Posts (other than the new link "with OT" in the "Show Unread Posts") ... it gets messy

what about "Show Unread Amiga Posts" and "Show unread OT Posts" ?
only 2 show posts links/button
Today Posts remains but it's free of OT

the abbreviations could be:

Eab New Posts
OT New Posts

or something

Send a message via ICQ to Duke
"Show Unread Posts" has a new exclude parameter, but this doesn't work for today's posts

Can this be added? Or some option in the UserCP maybe. Right now, half the pages are filled with OT crap.

Sorry dudes, I really forget the "Today's Posts" links
(you should use "Show Unread Posts" instead, to be sure to not miss one thread, as "Today's Posts" depends a lot about user's timezone)
  1. You have now access to two differents listings: EAB posts and Off Topic posts.
  2. Those two listings are available for "Today's Posts" and "Show Unread Posts".
  3. Public doesn't see the "Today's OT" link.
  4. Posts written over off-topic area are not counted into member's post number

Great!

EDIT:Wait...Posts written over off-topic area are not counted into member's post number - WHY? I will never reach one thousand then !!! It's not fair.

Grr!

The irony is this thread shows up in the normal 'unread posts'. Which is annoying

Couldn't be there counter of OT posts in OT area? Would be funny to know who is biggest OT looney :-)

And the threads in OT area disappear after few weeks, does it depend on activity/posts in threads? Or they disappear automatically after some period of time?

Am I just too stupid to use the search function, or does the search function exclude the offtopic threads ?

The topic I was searching for is: "Rocking - With CU_AMiGA"

In quicksearch I entered rocking > "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

I selected Advanced Search, entered rocking as search as keyword, manually selected the OffTopic-forums, hit ok > "sorry - no matches."

How old is that topic? As far as I know, inactive Off Topic threads are deleted after a while.

Edit: Oh, here it is http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=32503, strange. I suppose maybe Search still does exclude Off Topic from back when Off Topic was out of everything. RCK?

I don't think offtopic area is excluded from search engine.

@EAB Team

hello, I am curious to know the reasoning behind removing the post count for posts in off topic?

I m not concerned about post counts in general (please view my "Post Count Thread Trolling Value!")
To me a post count means nothing, however a posts content means everything. I am though curious to said reasoning...

why is a post in OT worth less compared to a Main post ?

(and if there is a way we could petition to have some people's post counts lowered lol )

I don't really know for certain, but I think that before, when posts in OT did count, they were supposed to be removed from your post count once they were deleted, but it didn't happen. So now they don't count at all, presumably to avoid this problem

Because a off topic thread is NOT archived for later recall ONCE it recieves no new posts & is left dead for two weeks it means .....

Only fresh OT is normaly available

In earlier board changes the removal of your off topic count became an automatic feature...so NOW I am guessing it is removing itself "before" you have finished posting your reply in OT

Who knows? in future it could even give you a negative count !

all I ever did was change my bookmark to (http://eab.abime.net/search.php?do=getnew) from the start, seems to do it all

If I want just normal I click the Read New Posts button, if I want just OT I press the OT button and if I want it all I use my bookmark
