Amiga 500. OCS or ECS?

Hi. I have 2 A500s one red power led the other green.

Question: The green light one comes from the Screen Gems pack released in 1990:
http://www.amigahistory.co.uk/screengems.html

Does anyone know if this amiga is ECS?

I think the red led is the older one?

Cheers
Tony

The latter might have a 1 MB Agnus. But needs mods to convert into half/full ECS.

i cant run mega typhoon on the red led amiga. i was wondering if it would work on the green led one. Or do you think the game requires an A500+ or A600?

Mega Typhoon should run on every Amiga, even on A1000. Odd.

It's no chipset issue. Kickstart 2.04 is needed as minimum. Works then with OCS+512KB Chip+512KB slowram.

Typically the green LED are the newer ones, and they had latter rev motherboards. But if it has Kickstart 1.3, it needs the mod done for 1MB Chip and of course a 512k card installed. It will have the standard denise though. You can get Kickstart 2.x and a Super Denise and do the 1MB Chip mod and you will have a full ECS A500.
