Unhappy Cinemaware Retro - Not Received!

Hi All back at the start of November I ordered:
Rocket Ranger and Defender of the Crown
from the Cinemaware Retro website.

The money was taken on my card, no problem. Immediately.
The items have never arrived. Ive messaged then on Facebook and been told a few times, they will be "sent this week". My account just shows "order on hold" and Ive had no real answers from them.

I really wanted them here so I could play the games on my CD32 over the holidays. Am I the only one this has happened too? Its been over 6 weeks. Am I too impatient? I live in UK.
I wanted to support them and get legit copies, but am wondering if I should just pursue my money back with my card provider.
Let me know your experiences. Should I wait it out?

Lol Patience has its limits but since every time I sent an email asking about the status of my order I did got a reply. On my case it was something with their site database crashing. But well... Finally I received the game

Patience!! A mate of mine ordered his Defender of the Crown in November 2015 and only got it in February this year after many emails and Paypal involvement!

Needless to say he will not be troubling Cinemaware with his custom ever again.

thanks for letting me know, your experiences.
I want to own it properly and buy it, but what do they expect folk will do to play these games if thats the way they treat customers.
Do they want to go bankrupt....again!?
Crazy.

If you have the original order email, send that back to them and demand proof it was sent or a reason why it hasn't yet been sent, don't just give up!

I have taken your enthusiasm and dug up the original order from 10 Nov 2015(!) and sent a request for information on my order as online status in the CW system reports "processing"although that is no proof of the order never being fulfilled!

I messaged through their website...anyone have a direct email address I could also try?

You could try forwarding your original email order confirmation to: sven "AT" cinemaware.com

Also check your bank account to see if the money has been withdrawn, if it has then you need to state the date when funds were withdrawn and the fact you have yet to receive anything and have had no tracking info for your order!

BarryB; you should know better...

Edited the e-mail address in your above post. Please don't give full e-mail addresses in a public forum. Spambots are everywhere these days

Cinemaware Retro - Not Received!

Hello,
we want to warn you! It seems that only few people got their Rocket Ranger orders and many not. If you still have the chance, open a PayPal case.
Wings is still not finished! Only RR is finished but not delivered since month.

I'm so sorry for this apex, and others in this thread

I love Cinemaware games; fond memories indeed

...so when I heard the news, wanted to purchase these, but had a *gut instinct* that something wasn't right.

It's very poor form when you publicise something in public, ask for / accept money, and then don't deliver

But we have to separate the games. Wings is still not finished, some people got already the package and a beta, but no full game. Daniel is still working on it.
But Rocket Ranger was finished end of last year, it was available in Neuss on the Amiga32 event and on some other events. But many people from a1k who preordered it or bought it later, still got nothing. Now people on a1k are writing they got the money back or a game, after opening a PayPal case.
The biggest problem, you can follow Sven on Facebook and see what he is doing the whole day instead of delivering Rocket Ranger.

I ordered both games as pre-order when they was available for ordering.
i was in same situation like most of you guys, everytime i asked when it will be shipped sven said "next week...this week...tomorrow" but nothing happened ever.

when i sent emails to him he never responded, when i wrote to his facebook page he popped up and said he never received a mail and i should check my mail provider. yeah, suuuure...

only with massive pressure i got my delivery. he always says "i was sick, i have stress, i want to outsource to a delivery service.." ... blabla. when you look at his facebook profile he is able to do private trips to disneyland, comic con, taking shootings with movie stars and so on...he could not be that sick to not be able to ship the already finished RR games...?

and another fact is that he has sold boxes of wings and RR on retro-events. he posted this on his facebook page, too...but not delivering to early customers who did a preorder.

If anyone is still able to open a PayPal case - my advice would be DO it. Currently this is the only way to get your game or your money back.

In my opinion things will not change with Wings...good luck to all of you. For me, i will never do a deal with this guy again.

Absolutely disgusting attitude / excuses / customer service

Least he could do is reply to your e-mails / posts and say "Very sorry, having a few issue ATM. Will be with you in the next few weeks." and then make damn sure that it is the case

Well, just had this forwarded to me by the mate who had problems:

Quote:
Hey guys,

first i have to apologize for the long silence. Within the last year i fully worked
on different Cinemaware-Products often 24/7. Beside this i´ve got
some health issues which really hit me within december, after a short try of a
vacation. At this i made the big mistake to keep complete silence after
i have recieved some anonymous threads against my person, really personal
attacks and also two, also anoynmous, death threads (one via mail and within
fake order). This puts me complete on ground. But it´s really not a reason to
not inform you. As annoucend the complete distribution will move to an
external shop from Dragonbox. I spoke with Michael, which also got with some
of you in touch now and we will reorganize the shop within in the next 2-3
weeks. In this time the Cinemaware-Shop will be closed and no orders
shipped. When all the material is moved to the store of Dragonbox we will ship
the
boxes immediately. We use this time also to update the Versions of Rocket
Ranger with an auto updater and also compatibility to High Sierra. For Wings
RE (Amiga) i will send you at Monday a different Mail with infos for shipping of
Wings RE (Amiga). The game is still in development but we now have a
version
that also got an auto-updater. In the meantime i will check also all open orders
and will get in touch with you one after another.

Thanks again for your big support and for the most of you for the patience

Sven
Should he really be involved in Cinemaware? Seems he's spent some of the money on new clothes, mainly 'anonymous threads' and 'death threads'

Except you need to threaten him to get what you've ordered as my mate had to do through Paypal for his DotC that he kept promising was already shipped!

But, judging by similar stories in this thread, this guy is a complete joke and seems to have no interest in making sure people get what they have paid money for, blaming ill health, database crashes, moving the store to Germany etc, not exactly a stellar example of efficiency and customer service is it?
