I've tried different ROMs and Google is coming up a blank when searching for a fix.
Anyone play else played it on the pi, config setting maybe? or can someone point me to a known good ROM.
Had no issues playing through this to the end a couple of years ago.
lr-pcsx-rearmed was the emulator.
Did you check the bios files are installed correctly? (you have to add them yourself).

Maybe all he really needs is a proper rom, in which case he may use the search function of CDR*mance.com, as it is a very reliable source for Playstation ISOs.

Hi.
I installed retropie about a year ago through the retropie download page https://retropie.org.uk/download/ and followed a tutorial on Youtube using Etcher.
I'll check tonight what PSX emulator is installed, its the one pre configured with the retropie install. I'll also check for an update.

I've tired a few ROMS found from Google.. WOWROMS one was the last one I tried. Plays fine until end of level 2 and crashed just before the boss.. The previous 2 roms I tried I just managed to kill the boss and it crashed.

Frustratingly the games is quite difficult and it takes me a few tries to get to the end of level 2 to confirm the problem is consistent to that perticular ROM (I am improving tho! LOL)
I actually own a physical copy of the game, but my ps1 optical drive has packed in!

Thanks for the replies guys, what a great community!

Finally got this working.
I downloaded the CDR*mance rom file and did an update on all installed packages through retropie config.
I also didn't check the use autosave feature in the options on R-type Delta, wondering if this was causing the problem. Either way its now working fine... Well at least till half way into level 3! ... Need to get some practicing done
