WTB: CDTV laser, or CDTV drive, or CDTV
If anyone has a spare good laser for a CDTV, or the drive assembly, or even a CDTV (working or otherwise) then I'd be interested...

It's a custom drive. Some Mitsumi thing?
What are the part numbers? |

I got one which makes not a single beep when I switch it on. It's needful? Postage will be quite high to UK (17€)...
PM me if you're interested... |

It's a custom drive, yep. Sort of half SCSI interface thing, completely unique as I understand it . It's a CR-511B.
Mr Niceguy, you have PM. |

Mr Niceguy, living up to his name, has done me a good deal on the CDTV. Fingers crossed I can use bits from that and the one I've got to get a fully working CDTV! |

Thanks, it arrived today
I'll bung you the extra via paypal: it's not fair that you should have to cover that when you've already been most generous! |

I've got the other one fully functional thanks to a track repair (to fix the clock) and a clean of the laser (to fix reading disks)
Sordid details here This will now be spares, and a project. Unless I can fix it too |

well, i have two machines and it never wasnt cleaned by hand, and it still works great. this lens is made from glass probably then it works.
its same priciple as "cleaning" cd-s. but now all lens are plastic so this method can destroy it completely |
