I HATE infinity tower case

My ppc doesn't boot again. The reason is simple it's ~50 degrees in Istanbul, and my room is the hottest place I've been nowadays. But this doesn't mean that micronik infinity tower is not the worst case ever manufactured. It's made up of cheap plastic, but it is not cheap. It is designed for A1200 but it doesn't stand still on my desk! Top and side parts are seperate with no screws and they don't mean to stay in one piece! There are two fans inside but they circulate the same hot air. Why didn't the morons at micronik or the idiots at phase 5 realize that there is NO WAY a ppc card with a 040 processor can work in that case in aa hot summer day, even shittiest pc gfx cards have own fans!!!

Sad but true, that's the attitude of *new* amiga hardware manufacturers. Quality died with commodore!!!

Man I feel for you, I did a double take when you mentions 50 degrees then realized that the rest of the world uses Celcius

I tell you what, my computer room/bedroom has it's own AC, can't live without it

Yes. My last summer in CA, I was having all sorts of crashes very regularly on my A2000. I thought it was stuffed, but it was the late evening heat from the sun setting and all the heat that had been building up in my room. Once I kept the room cool, I didn't have those issues anymore.

I've always seen ambient operating temperature ranges... ummm... somewhat lower than that

Typically 40c is a maximum but I'd bet tucking a ppc into all of that might lower that a bit.

Air conditioning is required in my house. Even if I have to use my numerous computers as an excuse

Hey Jimmijo you know we got to keep our igloos frozen on the rare occasion it gets over 32f

Of course reality is that it gets steamy up here surounded by water and downwind of the great lakes. A week or two ago we were getting mid 90s with 60-70% humidity (heat indexes as high as 115). Yesterday was only 82 but 70%... a bit tough keeping the igloo together

(All temps stated in Fahrenheit.... if they were Celsius I'd be shipping slow roasted critters as a business

)

I used to have cooling problems in my PC, then i cut a big square hole in the side of the case and put a huge fan out of a refrigerator in the side, that solved the problem

I still get to see reruns of SCTV down my way and I kick it Great White North style with some Back Bacon and Elsinor and my Black Lab, Hosehead :laugh I'll kick in some tunes afterwards and crank out the Rush and Working Man don't ya know

@Mick_AKA, good job there, you know there are new cases now with these blow holes in them already as well as custom case modders out there

I'm sure you know this, I just hope that fan is not an AC but a DC 12 volt type. If not then all that stray RFI will tend to cause problems with your electronic devices that are to close to it. Even desk fans need to be a little ways away in order to keep this interference down to a minimum.

yea, the fan is 12v DC, the fridge was out of a camper van.

Seems that CompUSA is now into the modded case scene, my local store has modded Antec cases with either water cooling or refridgerant cooling and the side cover has the nice cutout with the clear lexan see thru. You can also purchase the nice neon accent lights for the inside

I hate summers. They make my computers hot and unhappy! I never turn them on during summer unless Im forced to (except teh PC, I make that one suffer

).

I think I should buy an A/C someday... but i cant afford it for now

I tell you, nothing beats central AC in a house and for those bedroom's without central air, then a good wall/window mount unit is the best option, much better then a swamp cooler
