Help with Ariadne network card.
Hi.
I have some speed problems I'd like help with, using the Ariadne v1.2 card (Not Ariadne-II). Downloading to amiga: 15-20kb/sec Sending from amiga: ยจ200kb/sec Now, why would it be so slow to download stuff? The computer is a A4000/030 with 280Mb memory. Things I've tried: MiamiDX and RoadShow SANA-II driver (various versions) or MiamiDXs MNI driver. FTP and Samba 1.74 Another older d-link switch and a really old HUB I had stored away. Another network cable Downloading to RAM instead of disk. Made sure the firewall and NAT etc is disabled in MiamiDX. Considering I get the same thing in RoadShow though is a bit weird. Yes, I get closer to 18-25kb/sec with RoadShow instead of 15-20kb/sec with MiamiDX but its still way to slow. From what I've gathered on the net, a number of 200kb/sec is what is expected from an Ariadne. Found this thread that has the same problem, more or less, but with no obvious solution, part from selecting a faster TCP/IP stack which I've tried with RoadShow. He solved it by turning off the firewall in MiamiDX but mine is off. http://www.amiga.org/forums/archive/...p/t-13396.html - He has the opposite problem though. Slow to send, fast to download. I've got the other way around. Please help. I've ordered a X-Surf as well, but I'd like this card to work as it cost close to $160 Last edited by Turran; 06 March 2013 at 19:18. |
