Reviving a dead commodore 128

I know this is an amiga only forum but i know you guys are great and kind so i have to ask this question.

I won an commodore 128 from ebay germany*it was stated it was working fine*.When i received the machine today just for a second to see did it actually work,nothing came on the screen.Along with a garbled sound.

What seller can say about it?

Hi,

It is possible it took a rough ride in the mail, so a reseating of all socketed chips may solve the problem. If the warranty seal is still intact then i wouldnt touch it until you speak to the seller about a possible refund, otherwise go at it.

i know im really late on this but it may be bad memory chips,or in very rare cases the pla chip,or the sid chip.

Dumb question I know, but do you use composite/rgb/s-video? If you use the old RF cable, then make sure you tune your TV correctly to its frequency.
