Shapeshifter - CD-ROM Support

Heya guys,

Been playing around with Shapeshifter and CD-ROM support; as I'd love to add "The Settlers II: Veni, Vidi, Vici" into my collection.

Finally figured out how to mount a .BIN & .CUE file and have it appear in MAC emulation

So I get this:
...but when I start the game I get the following, and then it resets:
Any suggestions / help is much appreciated

Hmm, I’ve just made do with having a .toast image of Settlers 2 on a spare drive which I then mount in shapeshifter within OS7. That works fine and the game plays, but I appreciate it’s not the same as cdrom support. Will have a look to see if I can burn a copy of the CD and get it working the way you’re trying.

Yes, yes, yes!!!

Got it working from CD-ROM with audio tracks

I believe the crash above in my original post was something to do with not having QuickTime installed... used the OS that had this and all good

Hmmm, maybe I spoke too soon.

I don't think audio tracks are working, as if I go to this screen and select tracks, nothing is played:
I wonder why? The CD-ROM is definitely mounted in Shapeshifter.

I haven't burning the image. I just mount in WinUAE before starting emulation.

Previously in the Shapeshifter "SCSI" section I set "uaescsi.device", and the CD-ROM get's mounted in Shapeshifter

Regarding the Mac CD-ROM disks, surely we have people here who use "modern" Macs running OS X? As most of the disk images I can find are in toast format, which really needs to be converted to a more standard format for us to use, and I have not found any good, reliable method for doing this under Windows, but apparently it's easy under OS X.
Hmmm, I see what you mean.

I have a Toast file of "Rebel Assault". I can mount this in Toast but not convert...

Afterwards, I managed to convert to an ".IMG" file, but need to use StuffIt in order to re-mount.

Been Googling for quite some time in order to see if I can somehow convert this ".TOAST" file into a ".BIN & .CUE" files.

I don't think it's possible in Mac OS 7.5.5.

Any help would be much appreciated

...but I think we'd need a MAC user with OSX to do this for us.

What images needs to be converted and why? Toasts can be mounted in WinUAE just like bin&cue.

I couldn't find any .BIN and .CUE files, but will check "Macintosh Repository" now (already registered there).

I found this CONVERTING MAC .toast FILE TO .iso ON WINDOWS

Renamed the ".TOAST" file --> ".ISO", mounted in Daemon Tools and then used ImgBurn to create a ".BIN & .CUE" file.

Seems to work fine

I only see the .TOAST file on Macintosh Repository: https://www.macintoshrepository.org/...-rebel-assault

No .BIN & .CUE... unless I'm blind?

They only have bin/cues for games which have audio tracks (Rebel Assault doesn't have any).

Aardvark; I'm definitely no MAC expert.

Any ideas why I can't play audio tracks in CD-ROMs that I've mounted, as mentioned in these posts?

I haven't managed to get CDDA working in Shapeshifter under WinUAE either.
It does work on my real A1200 with a regular IDE CD-ROM drive.

Ok, thanks for the info.

It also doesn't work for me under "Basilisk II for Windows":
Which I think is odd.

Yeah, CDDA in Basilisk II doesn't work anymore in new Windows. You can get it to work in Windows XP Virtual Machine with the CD mounted to old Daemon Tools.

Gotcha.

I'm using Windows 7 [64-Bit] and a recent version of Daemon Tools.

I think I still have a quite old version of Daemon Tools; like 4.12.0 or something, on an external HDD.

Anyway, it's good to know these things. I thought that maybe I've misconfigured something.

Question

Hi, I'd like to emulate this on my 1200/030 but I have no idea how to start.
I would start to watch tutorials but I am very caught of time, someone has an .img .hdf where I can at least start the emulator without problems ... I also have a Graffiti that I do not use and a DVD drive installed that could help me with this if I'm not mistaken.
Thank you!
