Project - Quest : Chapter I

Project - Quest : Chapter I

System requirements: - HDD - ECS or AGA - 2.0Mb chipRam (at least 1.5 free)

The game use Project Horizon engine (under developement at the moment)! The download contains the first chapter as first level. If the game is acceptable and enjoyable quality, it will be continued. If you find a bug in the game don't hasitate to write in the comment section! The Map-Editor will be aviable with Project Horizon. With that you can create new maps for the game. - The game uses standard ABK (gfx or sound bank) used in AMOS. Combined with AMOS You can create or add new gfx to the game. Basically create a whole new shooter game! - The engine itself does not require 2 Mb chip ram (nor HDD), so if you create a new game (depending on the amount of gfx and sfx you use) it can run even on an OCS machine from a floppy as well. -The final version will include all the source code, the tools and editor for free.

The game partly contains redraws of some "free to use" gfx, so if anyone has any objections to that, please post this in the comment.

Looks and sounds great.
Don't like the humour, though.
Doesn't fit IMO.

We want to do this as long as the gamers (and we) have joy in it, so it’s not necessary but thank you for the donation.

Sorry. For now, only one level... as described.
In this case Insert Disk 2 is means "...to be continued."
A lot of time and energy making a game, so when it turns out ok, will be continued.

Hunor works differently in everyone, but you don’t necessarily have to perceive humor as what it is.
I think the protagonist can sometimes be a "plump" as well. As much as I like superman, for example, if I showed only the positive side of each hero, it would not only be predictable but all would be almost the same.
But thank you for your comment.

How shall we handle these games? Are those supposed to be two separate games, two levels of one game, or one is sequel to another one? I am asking how to have this in LA (and HOL) database.

One complete game with 2 Levels now..

Password for Level 2 is KING, otherwise you have to playthrough Level 1

I gave it some time today

2. One of the mystery box is not working

I played a bit with polygones to imitate light and shadows.
AMOS eats a lot Chipram speed to do this effect, far beyond the stock machine speed but WinUae with inmediate blitter has no speed problem.
I think a vampire accelerator can do something similar, but I can not test because I do not have one.
Please anyone who can test on Vampire. Playable or not worth trying?
Use the test executable and level code "VAMPIRE"
Please share the result.
Thank You

32x32 tiles on 352x288 screen (320x256 visible). I use 32x32 pixel (HW scroll?) with screen offset command. When the visible screen area reach the border then screen copy and replace the missing side-strip where necessary. This itself would be easy and fast, but since it is double buffered due to bobs that makes it more complicated to handle and slower .... not to mention combining with other things to make it more detailed.

Do you actually use the "screen copy" command ?
this is normally very slow but you seem to have good results.

Yes I do ue screen copy command. Twice because the "double buffer" and "autoback 0"
If I turn off enemies and stuff, the speed difference is more visible when it happens.... and sideway seems to be faster than up/down.
I tried few things and extensions (amcaf blitter copy? ... I think.) but did not find any faster.
Is there any other methot?
