Question Heimdall 2

Hi everyone. Am I the only person having problems trying to run Heimdall 2?

http://www.back2roots.org/Games/File...%20Worlds%2C2/

After failing with the BTTR version I tried an FLT cracked Tosec version, but same result-I end up crashing within the first couple of screens-normally the 1st in-game screen won't scroll with Heimdall, switch characters then usually get a garbled scroll/screen.

This has been bugging me since I tried running it on 0821x versions through to the latest 0822r5. Tried OCS,ECS Kickstarts 1.3 through to 2.05 wit the same results-ECS 13 settings don't seem to work for me,any thoughts?

Try running it with one of the earlier versions. I remember being able to run the BTTR version fine save for some graphics glitches but none as serious as you describe. But never had a problem with switching characters.

Thanks CPC464.
Haven't tried the config yet, but definitely will later.
By the looks of it I think the only setting there I haven't tried has been more compatible CPU, d'oh!

That's certainly the area where the game crashes, but thought it had to working if BTTR had it.

EDIT:
Although I had to make a couple of minor changes to suit my own settings, the main settings are still the same & definitely getting crashes. The BTTR ADF's crash on that initial screen you displayed CPC464, the FLT Tosec crack lasted slightly longer though you still had to change from Heimdall to even get the initial starting screen to scroll.

I'll upload my config for anyone to look at, I've even tested it on alternative kickstarts,(even though the standard ones I use work fine on everything else), this defitely has me puzzled....

SOS Walker,where are you?!

Here's a quick & dirty config, tested with WinUAE 0.8.22 R4 and R5, FLT crack. Scrolling and switching characters works.

Then you're doing something wrong or your ADF images are corrupt, because I tried it again and it works just fine for me (both R4 and R5).

Thumbs up Give this a try....

All credit to Amigaboy for this....

Using WinUAE 0.8.22r5, I used the following settings:

RAM: 1mb Chip and 1mb Slow
ROM: I used Amiga Kickstart 2.0 (37.350) (A600) (Commodore) (1992).rom
CPU: 68000 More Compatible. Match A500 Speed
Chipset: Full ECS. Cycle Exact CPU and Blitter. Sprites and Sprites Vs Playfield Collision
Sound: Enabled 100% Accurate

Worked fine using Kickstart 2.0x.
Anyone else with stubborn WINUAE's/PC's which don't comply with Walker's config try this instead-maybe it just hated Kickstart 1.3?

sorry for the delay!
i've just rechecked the config provided by walker with newly downloaded adfs from fairlight. no luck. well...
i've also tryed the adjustements from 7-Zark-7 and so far it DOES work! (i'm half through midgard) i think that it's a matter of sprites/playfield collision)
so thanks to both of you

Question

Any references to the keyboard/mouse controls-I haven't got a clue how to access the magic system?

@Tomtom: thanks! i've seen it just now, since i'm at work in another town. i'll check it on the weekend.
@7-zark-7: "sorry to be late" ver.2.0... if you have not work it out in the meantime, you need to collect the runes for the spells out in the world, along with the recipes (to be written pen on paper...), then compose them in the slot and use them as you would hit. if i'have'nt understood what you need, please tell .
