Registering amirc?
I tested out Amirc and I would like to register it. However, I have gotten no repiles from my emails. Any idea on what to do or am I SOL like with MagicWB?

Erm, read the "latest" news on the Vaporware website Retro!
@pan1k Since you can't register AmIRC anymore, you might as well support a decent IRC client that is still in development like Wookiechat. Grab it off the Wookiechat website or Aminet. It's uncrippled shareware. If you like it, you can show your appreciation to the author and register it instead. Last edited by DrBong; 08 July 2006 at 20:55. |

Indeed, this is TOTALLY confusing.
Here's Vapor's Contact page and as far as I read it, online registrations are no longer supported, but I think that doesn't mean no registrations are possible. Possibly registrations are done via snail-mail only now. There's a mailing list and even the mail addresses of the authors are provided, who maybe know more. Apparently, you can also order via registration tool, but due to the non-trivial navigation on the site, it is a bit hard to find: http://vapor.meanmachine.ch/register/ The regtool is the registration tool with also lots of guide/doc files included in various languages. No warranty but ... HTH. Last edited by andreas; 08 July 2006 at 21:17. |

@Andreas
If that's true, then it's becoming very hard to give your money to some Amiga shareware authors these days! Still doesn't explain the lack of reply to pan1k's emails. In any case, I'd still prefer to support shareware products like Wookiechat, which is still being developed and can be used for free or alternatively registered if you feel it merits it. |

I've been trying to use amirc lately and its ok but I'm not too over keen on it. I did like blackirc when I managed to get it working, the font on it is too small and adjusting the mui settings don't help. I'll give this wookiechat a go. How long does it take usually before keys are given out to things like amirc when you can no longer get hold of the keys via registration?

It's a pain. I want to give them money. I emailed the author of AmIRC and it didn't bounce. I guess he doesn't want money!
