Simplest HDMI solution for the Amiga

Without getting weird and judgemental about it, or suggesting I buy a proper CRT monitor (nice idea, but not viable for this project), what is the simplest option for outputting to HDMI with the best possible picture quality? Are we talking Scart + HDMI adapter? Is there an alternative adapter for the monitor output? What are my options if all I want to do is take the video output from the Amiga and plug it into an HDMI display?

Edit: This is for an A1200. No idea how I managed to forget to include this. Chalk it up to exhaustion.

You don't state for which Amiga it is, but for the A500, A2000 and probably in the near future the A600, a project has been mentioned recently on the German A1K.org forum. Pi Zero als Flickerfixer / HDMI Output für OCS Amigas
https://www.a1k.org/forum/index.php?threads/77107/

It's basically an Denise adapter with a Raspberry Pi Zero attached that works with some sort of bare-metal software. It looks promising to me.

I can't believe I forgot to mention this was for an A1200. I'm a dummy.

...and D520! And I can just plug it into the various Amigas WITHOUT opening it.

The absolute simplest and cheapest method is to use an AV to HDMI converter like this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Famounte-Co...8632136&sr=8-6

Unfortunately since it uses the component output fromt eh Amiga, which is famously poor quality, the picture tends to look like hot garbage.

Indivision AGA. Simplest (as far as installation is concerned) and best solution with best picture quality in my opinion.

Sorry, but no. As far as simplest installation is concerned, nothing beats a D520! From an A1000 up tp an A4000, just plug'n'play.

There's some issues with 50hz output currently, but that *might* get fixed with a future fw update.

I'd like to see the D520 in action against something like a Retrotink 2X-SCART as it seems to be doing similar things at double the price. Also the fact that it has issues with 50hz signals seems to defeat the entire purpose for an Amiga device.

My D520 runs with the latest firmware in 50 and 60Hz without any problems. The picture is the best you can get out of the Amiga. It is razor sharp and scrolls smoothly. I will NEVER part with my D520. Unfortunately I will buy a second one

I don't understand how it can be the "best you can get" vs. the Indivision as the D520 is taking the analog output from the RGB port instead of taking the digital signals directly from Lisa. I guess the dial on the top is adjusting the signal somehow to filter out the noise - the Retrotink lacks any adjustment so any noise present is amplified.

I would like to try the D520 as the Indivision is rather fiddly and I would rather avoid clipping things on surface mount chips, but there are hardly any reviews of it, it's really expensive, and it sticks out the back of the Amiga too much - I can barely fit an A2000 plus keyboard on a modern desk as it is.

the adapter + Raspberry Pi Zero will probably be adapted to fit in the A2000 video slot. An A2000 with HDMI output would be great

The only issue there is, that it doesn't output the Amiga's 49.92Hz, but exactly 50Hz.

Jope did a fairly good summary of the D520 vs the OSSC (another option for the O.P.) in this thread
