[solved] James Pond Whdload: slowdowns in mission briefing

I've been trying some Whdloads lately.
In this one (latest James Pond Whdload on 16.9), I have noticed briefing scene slowdowns a lot (the scene with transparent red letters).
In the same machine (plain 7Mhz Amiga) , using the disk version results on smooth scrolling letters/scenary instead.
Is that expected? I though WhdLoad would disable AmigaOS in the back and multitasking, so no additional CPU power should be needed.

thanks!

This is most probably caused by the added blitter waits. These are needed for the game to work correctly on CPU's > 68000. If there are lots of them, the game might slow down on 68000.

Just checked the readme, JOTD added a tooltype to disable the blitter waits.

From the readme:

Quote:
version 2.1 (09.11.10) done by JOTD:
- added CUSTOM2 switch to remove blitter patches. Use it on slow machines only to speedup game
