Competition Pro CD32/Sega

I'm looking for a Competition Pro Controller for a CD32 buy can't find one. I was wondering if anyone has tried to use a Honeybee SG-18 Competition Pro Controller for the Sega Genesis Mega Drive Turbo 6 Button with a CD32? If so what buttons work? I'm assuming there are different pin outputs for the two types but curious to know how many buttons will work or even the rapid fire.

Two buttons will work and the rapid fire works on those buttons. The Genesis one is not a good choice even if they all worked as it's missing trigger buttons, so the layout is off.

The CD32 uses a completely different process to get 9 buttons + directions out of 9 pins than anything else. I have found the Competition Pro/Honey Bee pads to have terrible d-pads and random compatibility issues with WHDLoad, and the otherwise quite nice official pads have a habit of snapping d-pads, so gave up in the end and bought a Playstation-CD32 converter. It works great and is programmable so you can do stuff like assign Up to a button for platformers.

Yes, I've tried one. Works well but not all buttons work as mentioned above. I must say the d-pad is very responsive more so than my SNES one. I use a converted light grey SNES Honey Bee pad. Works perfectly like a CD32 Honey Bee. There is a guy that converts them on EB, but you can buy the leads at different lengths from AZN if you fancy a go at a self-build project.
