BS1 Collection

So, a guy of the Belgian Amiga Club met up with one of the old BS1 members, who had a stack of 80 (yes eighty) diskboxes sitting on his attic. They are now converting this treasure trove to .adf box by box. The guy has no time to virus check / dupe check / index / etc... but I am sure there are a few interested in that over here.

Ping me here and I will link you up with the guy...

I am in touch with "Simon" and have the first batch of 170 disks .adf'ed. I opened a separate thread to see if anyone on here wants to help.

I am of course interested too!
Just a reminder, always keep disks write protected, do not change anything!!
We(at least we at TOSEC) want to catalog/preserve as it is!

And here I am ...

First box is already torrented and I think I will just post the torrent links for future imaged boxes here because on the Commodore AMiga facebook group the first link is already flagged within 12 hours and gone. Is it facebook or moderation out of fear the group gets flagged as piracy spreaders by people that still live in 1992... I leave that in the middle. It is what it is.

ANyway this is what I do and did with the first box:

I made adf files of it's contents without changing a thing. The adf have the name like it showed up in workbench or in case of NDOS disks I gave them the name that was on the label. There might and will be virusses, I don't checked what version it is or who cracked it and etcetera .... that part I leave to the community.

The good news already is that the first box contained 179 disks with only 3 that were bad.

Here is torrent number 1 ... keep seeding for a while and use the contents whatever way you seem fit.

Don't worry :-) . I motivated to get image it all and get rid of the pile of floppy's that probably fits on an 8gb usbstick. When it's done it all goes to the recycling center or local amigans that want floppies.

Also help is on the way to pick up some boxes so it hopefully can go a bit faster

keep the bad disks too, they may be recoverable with some Kryoflux TLC, as they may be MFM disks. (like the elusive Powerstyx BS1 crack that is not in TOSEC but since it is MFM it was back then (15 years ago) not possible to transfer to a file)

Found 7 ADF virused, 8 or 9 disk with broken content, and 1 missing disk.

I made a clean archive here :

Yeah, for me it was gone for a while. maybe it was quarantined by facebook for a while? Happens from time to time.

Maybe add a complementary textfile in your archive with the message it is in fact cleaned ? Because my file still says it's the original material.
